90's Promos and Samples

I have one of these I've been trying to sell on COMC for over a month. I can't get them to change the listing from a base Score to the Score Samples.

Nothing yet, I can't get it up for sale until they fix the description! I had to call them last week about another matter, and asked about when they'd fix these (it's been since 3/12). They said their ID team is very backed up, but they're "working on it".

I've always thought these were fairly common compared to the 1990 and 1991 Score samples, so I didn't expect to get a ton for it. These aren't secretly a big money item, are they?

How about a Gary Gaetti (Pinnacle) panel? He has two, one with a Score card, and one with a Pinnacle card. I need the Pinnacle one. If you have it, I'm interested!

[h=3]You Make the Play[/h] On card from this 90-card set was inserted into each Series One pack. Forty-five players are featured on two different cards. The cards measure just about the standard-size but have rounded corners and were meant to be played as part of a game.
In addition to being inserted into packs, dealers also were offered extra You Make the Play cards depending on how many cases ordered. A dealer who ordered one case received two 12-card packs of these cards for a total of 24 cards. Meanwhile, a dealer who ordered two cases received six 12-card packs for a total of 72 packs.
Customers could also receive 12 of these cards by sending 10 wrappers and $2 to an a mail-in order. This offer expired on May 15, 1996.
This set is also available in a Gold Signature parallel.

The dufex 30 card set was given to those who attended all the sessions of the 1993 SCAI meeting in Dallas. Only 1000 sets were made.

Beckett clearly has no idea what they're talking about with these Promos. Maybe they got bad info from Pinnacle back in 1993, and no one has ever bothered to verify it in the last 20 years?

Yep, wherever that information came from, it's inaccurate. Beckett probably did get incorrect info though, that would make sense, and since they are rare enough to be rarely seen or tracked, noone has ever corrected it. I've always wondered why they don't go back and correct some of their obvious mistakes, but maybe all of the new consumes them. 1997 Score Hobbby Reserve annoys me because Beckett is wrong, so that makes COMC wrong, and almost everyone that lists one of the "RESERVE COLLECTION" parallels lists it wrong or they are listing the regular base card as the parallel. I've ignored Beckett for years, makes me a much more knowledgable collector.

[h=1]Description[/h] 1997 Score is a 551-card set released in two series; with cards 1-330 distributed in series one packs and cards 331-550 in series two packs. The 10-card Series one packs and the 12-card Series two packs carried a suggested retail price of $.99 each and were distributed exclusively to retail outlets. Card #551 short-printed (about twice as tough to pull as a basic card), and is available in English (retail packs and factory sets) or Japanese (Hobby Reserve).
Please note that card number 514 was not issued. Both Gary Sheffield and Jim Thome are numbered 515.
Notable Rookie Cards include Brian Giles.
[h=2]Premium Stock/Hobby Reserve[/h] Distributed exclusive to The Hobby, Premium Stock is a "premium" version of the Series One base set. The cards parallel the regular issue set except for a gray border, thicker card stock and a prominent gold foil "Premium Stock" logo on front. Series Two Premium Stock cards were called "Hobby Reserve." Hobby Reserve was printed on a thinner card stock as the Premium Stock cards (but still thicker that regular Score), and do not have a gray border.

[h=3]Artist's Proofs[/h] The Artist Proofs come in two varieties: One featuring a holographic "wave" pattern, and another with a plain gold-foil stamp. It is believed that the plain goil-foil version were only made for the Series One set, and were only available in retail packs.
[h=3]White-Bordered Artist's Proofs[/h] Artist's Proofs White Border cards were randomly inserted exclusively into Score Series One retail packs. The cards share the similar "Artist's Proof" logo as seen on the more commonly traded Showcase Series Artist's Proofs. Unlike the silver-foiled Showcase Series Artist's Proofs, however, the White Border cards have plain white stock card fronts - making them easy to misidentify with a basic issue Score card. Please note that Series Two Artist's Proofs do not exist.
[h=3]Reserve Collection[/h] This "frosted" foil set parallels the Series Two set. It is only available in Series Two Hobby Reserve packs.
