Bowman Wrapper Update From Topps

Honestly, you can't fault topps. They were nice to throw in something extra, actually they threw in a few extra things. Demand and rippage for bowman was
just massive. They only want to make sure the product sells. Which it did, or at least the jumbos did. The regular bowman boxes will become door stops
with those pathetic odds. Next time we are wiser and will ship off earlier or at least not count our chickens before they hatch. I got mine delivered today
and who knows if I will get packs. Kudos to topps for the extras, on to Archives.

Those who got theirs even a day earlier had a day advantage and that one day could mean all the difference for hundreds of buyers. That sounds more like insider trading than a free market economy.

Do you have a credit card and online access? Then I'm certain you'd be able to locate and pay for the same option. It's not special, and insider trading really isn't even remotely close to being a fair comparison. Almost like saying Freddy Galvis reminds me of a young Mickey Mantle. (funny that as I type this Galvis hits and RBI single).

uhm, I wasn't even allowed to pick mine up until the day of release, and I have a good relationship with both the distributor and my wax dealer. I drove to the distributor to pick it up. I would say 95% of the population of buyers of wax do not have the ability to get their wax before release.

Despite the fact that Im currently relocated in Philly(at CHOP) due to complications with our pregnancy, it still doesnt really hinder my ability to be get product in hand. My boxes were sent out upon release date and arrived today at my home in Palmyra PA. I will have the boxes in hand tomorrow, AND will not be able to participate in this redemption WHICH BTW has ENTIRE back page cover(I believe) of the latest Beckett for this program!! How absurd is it that and entire cover page(albeit backside) is used to PROMOTE this product and it really is all but impossible for someone like myself whom I consider more than a casual COLLECTOR. Was I aware of the program? Sure, just like the past wrapper redemptions in topps products. I wasn't aware that such limited supply wouldn't even last a mere week however!! Now while it isn't a majority of the value of the Jumbos I purchased, but my Jumbos have now taken roughly a 10% hit in value as I will not receive the packs.

When it comes to "issues," I try to look at it from ALL angles, but in this case I have no problem sharpening my pitchfork.

Same here I tried to get Shrek to let me get them a day early...but the distributor wouldn't let it happen. Other things I possibly could of...but never with Bowman...

I tried getting stuff early so I could get it shipped and in peoples hands Wed, that did not happen. I had all my cases on release day.

The thing with sports cards, there really is no regulations. Take a look at the movie and music industry. They are pretty firm with when a new DVD or CD comes out. You wont find it anywhere until midnight of the release day. The stores know not to start selling early.

My cases got delivered late, Fed Ex sent them out to the wrong hub to begin with, so I got them on Thursday, Opened 3 cases and was at the post office shipping them out Thursday evening..
Topps Received them yesterday..
Also some people I know that opened a ton of boxes sent them out Next day air to get to Topps...

If you're just a normal guy who works 9-5 and doesn't have time to swing by his LCS during the week because their hours don't accommodate yours, but goes religiously on the weekend, you had no chance at this program. THAT, in my eyes, is a problem.

Count me in that group! And exactly what I meant to say to a T. That is who they promote to when they promote in Beckett for the most part, yet, those collectors/buyers don't have a fighting chance to take part in the program

Hopefully, I got all my packs in. A crazy story is that I sent 21 jumbo wrappers (3 packs worth of redemptions) via first class mail on Saturday. the USPS tracking showed it got delivered yesterday. I'm surprised!

What they should have done IMO was something for the first 10,000 packs worth or whatever number, and then something else (of lesser value) for anything else, with maybe an occasional thing of value afterwards. Make it an incentive to get them early, but don't completely ignore people who aren't able to bust (usually in bulk) right away
