The above reasoning is based on buying a card knowing there are collectors for it and upping the price x3 claiming you are helping them out offering a card that is hard to find. Some might like it but I don't. I don't care how bad I want/need it, that automatically turned me off.

Yeah but how many times do people tell you what they got the card for? I'm okay with that I suppose. My thing is...don't tell someone you can only pay a small amount for a card when you know damn good and well you'll triple your money. Be a damn man and tell them you can move it but tell them your top price. If everyone is cool...good deal. Hell...half the time dealers help each other out, especially if what they have isn't moving for them personally.
I noticed this with comic books. I had so many key issues, knew what they were worth and knew that a comic shop would pay me a low amount for them. They have to get things cheap enough to make it worth their while, plus they are helping you expedite the selling process. But don't tell me you can give me only $30 for an Incredible Hulk 181 that would grade out around a 6-7. Or $200 for an X-Men #1 graded 4.0. And just like at my local shops for cards...don't tell me you can only give me $50 for an Andre Johnson auto'd football(authentic none the less) when the damn ball cost me twice that. Don't tell me crap like that. It's different if you say you are willing only to pay that price. But when you tell me you have to have it at that price to move it...you're insulting my intelligence.
