No, its simple to decide if you're ok with the amount of shipping before bidding, getting your package, opening it and the card is in the expected condition.


i do not and will not examine to make sure i've gotten the correct amount of money spent when i have already decided i was bidding on the item.

My expectation is i receive my package in the correct condition and with the correct amount of postage.

If i get a postage paid envelope, you will get 0 stars and i'll ask for a refund.

Why? You got your card in perfect condition? Shouldn't you be happy with that?

I only reuse bubble mailers if a card is going to someone for free or if the card is less than $5. If it is less than $2 it goes in a PWE. There are few instances when I have to reuse a bubble mailer but if I do I make sure that I am sending it how I would want it sent to me.

If you provide free shipping, ship it to me in the anal cavity of an elephant for all I care.

For that I'd pay a hell of a lot more than $3 shipping.

Generally I give free shipping on anything $50 or more and $1 shipping on anything else. The shipping alone is never less than $1.60 or so and I will on rare occasion use a reused envelope (that has been carefully opened and is still in nearly new condition only). Packed securely with thick sides or a cheapie pack of cards with it to make it unbendable. I understand what you say about the $3 charge for reused envelopes, which is why I undercharge for everything myself.

Exactly, Alex.
I get brand new padded mailers, penny sleeves and toploaders from guys with free shipping fairly often. Now, that may spoil me and my "requirements" for 5 stars... but don't kid yourself by thinking you are in the same league as those sellers if you charge me $3+ for shipping and I get a reused envelope with tape all over it.

If you're THAT concerned about saving the environment, put it in your listing. Either tell me you're going to be reusing (so I make the choice to still purchase) or tell me you're "green" and charge me $4 to cover the cost of those higher-priced recycled envelopes.

This is extremely petty. To even THINK about the package you receive your items in is petty. I don't ever think about it, because what's inside is what matters. Being overcharged for shipping is a completely different story than what you are talking about. You are talking a difference of pennies to less than a dollar. It's petty nonsense.

Like I said, I very rarely give less than 5 stars. Just for whatever reason, some people in this thread are taking what I say as if it's some attempt at law. Believe it or not, I'm not being extreme in any way. There are plenty of EXCELLENT sellers on this board and in this thread (like these above). Those are the guys that put efforts into selling. I'm not saying EVERYONE should work like these guys.. but come on. It's a little unfair to rank them at the top but then just throw the same rating to people who half-ass it and charge you for FULL ASS.

That is overboard. Each Post Office and postal worker sees things differently. It would make sense if there was consistency, but there isn't. I have taken things right to the counter at my PO and did my due diligence, only to have postage due on the receiving end because the buyer's Post Office/postal workers saw the package differently. How could that possibly be MY fault.

I'm glad you apologized for any misconception, but I think the more true intent was relayed in the original message. Am I mistaken or is postage paid different than postage due? Postage paid to me means that the seller has a certain rate that he has paid for or will pay for because he has an account with the P.O. Postage due is when it arrives to you and you have to pay more on shipping cost.

not sure how saying i couldnt give a rats behind what the packaging is can be the dramatic viewpoint.

but is your ability to read that when i bid, i've taken how much shipping is into consideration. I have two expectations:

1. The card is in the expected condition
2. That the amount i paid to ship covered the package.

It was less about importance and more about me giving thought to other people's opinions on a discussion that I am actively in. I do agree, however, that this was all about opinions on the reuse of bubble mailers. I was unaware of how much weight my thought on the subject apparently carried.

I can also see how you'd think that "examining" a bubble mailer takes more than a passing glance. But anything to make your argument, I guess!

First off, I didn't ask for anything for free. I paid for what I bought and and he added some extras BECAUSE he admittedly took a long while to ship. You act as though I asked for a handout. I paid $1 for a card that I sold for $3.13. The other stuff was extra and I thanked Syd many times. For you to even bring this up is just MORE proof that you are petty. You can't even let it go. Why does it matter so much to you. lol

For the record I don't mind recycled mailers. I also can't wait for the day eBay forces free shipping on sports cards.
