Lynn was called up for an emergency start on June 2, 2011. He was optioned to Memphis on June 10, 2011. He was recalled on June 22, 2011. He remained on the 25 man roster until August 10, 2011 when he was placed on the 15 day DL with a left oblique strain. On September 2, 2011, he was transferred to the 60 day DL. He was activated on October 9, 2011 to the active roster, which was the postseason roster.
So, he spent 8 days on the 25 man roster during his first callup, and 49 days during his second stint before going on the DL. He is no longer considered a rookie.
Also, the statement you made, which I placed in bold print, is simply not true. From the MLB website (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/about_mlb/rules_regulations.jsp):
Determining rookie status:
A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).
Stats accumulated in September WOULD count toward the 130 ABs or 50 IP requirement. It just doesn't count towards the service time portion of the requirement.

^^^this article site the wrong stat (IP) and it should be Games. Seems like there is some discussion that he might garner votes since he pitched 34 2/3 innings with two starts and all other work from the BP. In the strictest since of the rule he is not eligible.

Edinson Volquez received 3 second place votes for the 2008 NL ROY although he was ineligible for the award, as he had 80.0 IP with the Rangers from 2005-2007.
