Thanks for the post....
#1- I am sure I bought this personally as part of a Harper lot.. This was one card out of 10-20 Harper autos.. I just plain missed it..

#2- no... I don't feel it's wrong to mention why you are selling it.. To many collectors (including me), a reasonable expectation from a pack is nrmt/mt (PSA 8).. Do I wish every card was a 9.5 or 10? Sure, and leaf cards grade among the best in the business. However, if a card is nrmt/mt or better , I have no reservations.. If a card is creased, scratched noticeably, etc I would mention. But to me an 8 or 8.5 (or higher knowing that grading is subjective), is not unreasonable.

If every card on eBay was posted with a grading history, you'd probably never buy a raw rookie over $100 again..

Just my thoughts.. BG

Thank you for your reply BG

1 - Ok if you missed it XXXX happens to all of us - thankfully BGS caught it. I can't imagine the XXXXstorm that you would have endured if it was graded a 9.5 w/10 and then this information was found out.

2 - This is where we disagree a little - I think most collectors who open packs would expect the newer cards (2008 -present) to come out at least mint with the exception of thick jersey/patch cards. With all the improvents in the industry I would think that a mint card is not out of the question.

good luck with your future products

Just curious BG, but assuming you know/remember who you bought the 10-20 Harper card lot from, is there any recourse for you to reach out to them in an attempt to be compensated? With such a high dollar card, I'm sure a 2 minute phone call would be in order. I think most big dollar card sellers here would be willing to work something out with a buyer if a situation like this was presented to them and the proof they unknowingly sold a forged card was at hand...

Anyway, I also wanted to say it really sucks this happened. With so many wanting to hold your feet to the coals here, perhaps I am the only one who is empathetic to your situation. I would not want to see anyone taken for so much money, expecially when that is your livelyhood. Anyway, I think this stands as a lesson to anyone that when dealing in high dollar cards you really need to take the time to inspect a card before buying it, taking nothing for granted. I always say "Buy the card, not the grade" but now I have revised this to "Inspect the card, Buy the card, not the grade"...

I believe you are wrong here. I assume, like you did, that the overwhelming majority of wax busters expect the cards to be NM-MT or better out of packs. In fact, I'm not sure you could find one reasonable person who would expect each card pulled from a pack to be "at least mint" as you say. Do we hope? Sure. Does it happen from time to time? Perhaps, is it a expectation? Hardly not in my opinion..

What your not realizing is when BG buys in bulk those cards are not at all special and not closely looked at all. A platinum Harper in the scale of what BG is buying in bulk aint nothing that would warrant a special look.

again read - I was talking about the inital buy of this card

would you buy a stack of autos from me blindly if i told you that there were some jeter, pujols autos included ?

or would you look at them?

Did you open any 2012 topps chrome? You really think most of the cards that came out of packs would grade a 9 or better?

BG responded it was a 10-20 card Harper auto lot - I believe this would warrant a special look

Very reason I won't buy Topps Chrome .. Their quality control on this brand has been horrible at best for a long time
and I don't understand why people keep buying this product - packs & cards bowing, lousy centering, scratches & roller marks. I think one could find a better product to spend their money on.

Because allstars is a ***** who tries to be a bigshot then backs down once he's called out.

Sorry man, not backing down at all just worked a big event all weekend. Glad to see I was missed.

I said I'd apologize to Brian if he proved he submitted the card to BGS and while no physical proof exists (very suprising to me, but that's the way Leaf & BGS work) my rep at BGS recalls seeing the Harper card there & that's good enough for me.

So Brian, I apologize.

I do have a question - where did the "before" pic of the card originate? I was under the impression it came from the source that sold Brian the card.

And to all who called me terrible things like moron - I'm deeply hurt lol.

Well since you want to put that out there, the burden of proof is now on you to validate your claim. Or it's just another slimeball method of inserting baseless claims of fraud. Or maybe we all can start spreading damaging rumors about you across the net cloaked "under the impression"...

The picture is from Worthpoint. "we-chase-autos" purchased it from the auction that picture is from.

With all due respect are you on his payroll? You don't have to answer this on here as we could always discuss it at the lcs.
