Scout autos were a bad enough idea, but I can at least fathom a hardcore player collector going after the scout of his player (and getting it for 99 cents).

The "Bowman Scout" auto, now that was a horrible, horrible conception. That is just some scrubby dude in a cubicle who reads Baseball America. And that dude didn't even sign the stickers. Who the hell brought the idea to the table? And who the hell didn't shoot it down as a ludicrous waste of time and resources?
THIS

Someone should have been publicly beaten for these

Topps Ring cards...not sure why these go for the prices they do. Apparently a lot of people like them. They are pretty dumb in my book.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-TOPPS-SERIES-1-RETIRED-RINGS-MICKEY-MANTLE-SP-403-736-NEW-YORK-YANKEES-RARE-/140802303471?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item20c878a5ef&nma=true&si=JIGjnwYnj%2BUxnFV%2BmU6szve3x6c%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
$60 for a card numbered to 736? No thanks.
They sold cheaper at release. That set has been out all year now and they a few and far between. That said...Mantle, Maris, and Ruth will always sell higher, no matter what it is. I find these ring cards less offensive than the hat logos, name patches, glove nameplates, etc

I'm really glad that the whole fake letterman patches thing is going away (w/ the unreadable auto on the letter.) I was SO angry when they put those in Finest.

Well, i HOPE it's going away.

So the pack wars card was a real 100 dollar bill inserted into the card? Interesting concept wonder if it was ripped out of the card or if it survived also was it a 1/1 or are there multiple of them.

There were certainly more than one of them. I recall one of them selling on ebay for 120 dollars or so. Anyone remember exactly?

Dead Bugs.

Open some sports cards, find a redemption for a dead bug.

Yay...

Could't agree more, never understood why people will bid on the junk.Bowman Scout autographs, however, were the first cards that came to mind.

Allen & Ginter had that dog paw pint on a card. There's one listed aith a $249 BIN. I think they also did something like a truck tire mark? I see some of the stupidest $#@*! come out of Ginter. One man's opinion... save the flames!

Scout autos are the worst thing to hit sportcards since I've returned to collecting in 2005. The concept itself almost made me lose interest in the hobby. I dont even understand how they came up with the idea. Who could possibly think that collectors would want a scouts autograph? I've seen a thousand baseball games and have never once seen someone go up to a scout and ask for an autograph.

Does packaging count? How about cards that were packaged in cans?

Really hated those Rival cards that were in Tribute in 2010. Those kind of cards shouldn't be in a baseball product, especially a high end product. To me it was almost as bad as pulling an expired redemption.

Cards of Topps employees are fairly asinine. Also, the card of the fake 2008 Japanese prospect in Topps was pointless.
