That set was actually brilliant. It was in a product bought by dog owners.
Who wants another generic looking baseball set in a consumer product like the dozens that clogged the '80s and 90s?
And the cards really stand out for bein unique in a player collection.
It's just something fun, and something to break up the monotony of every other baseball card.
I think it's one of the best ideas for a card set available in a product.

That is an amusing card.Somewhere, I have a card of Ryan when he was with the Rangers, riding on a horse on some ranch.Looks goofy as hell.

There is also one from whataburger, I can not find a picture of
This card is from the Ryan Express Set and I think there are 2 more in there of him on horses.

I remember going to some convention when I was a kid and packs of this garbage being given away.You can barely even see the signature on this card.$150 anyone?Didn't think so.

I went in my shop today and saw a Topps Stadium Club card of Ryan throwing a baseball wearing a tuxedo.He appears on more goofy cards than any other player.

Honestly, I think any idea that is creative, unique, or ambitious in effort to be different is a good thing. Having said that, I really can not think of anything 'stupid' with regards to sports cards...

That was the hottest card in the 1991 Stadium Club set when it came out. Everyone thought it was really cool.
