That set was actually brilliant. It was in a product bought by dog owners.
Who wants another generic looking baseball set in a consumer product like the dozens that clogged the '80s and 90s?
And the cards really stand out for bein unique in a player collection.
It's just something fun, and something to break up the monotony of every other baseball card.
I think it's one of the best ideas for a card set available in a product.

That is an amusing card.Somewhere, I have a card of Ryan when he was with the Rangers, riding on a horse on some ranch.Looks goofy as hell.

There is also one from whataburger, I can not find a picture of
This card is from the Ryan Express Set and I think there are 2 more in there of him on horses.

Yet another cheesy Ryan card.He must have lost a bet or something to agree to these distributor's or something.

I went in my shop today and saw a Topps Stadium Club card of Ryan throwing a baseball wearing a tuxedo. He appears on more goofy cards than any other player.

Honestly, I think any idea that is creative, unique, or ambitious in effort to be different is a good thing. Having said that, I really can not think of anything 'stupid' with regards to sports cards...
