Hey everyone. I have a family member who had a family owned business for a long time. His father had taken in cards, cards, and more cards for years and years in trade, etc. Long story short, he is looking to sell.
***I am located in the Chicago area. And would be looking to sell as a LOT.
There are two peices to this puzzle.
1. He is sitting on maybe 400,000-500,000 cards at this shop and would like to sell the entire lot to someone. He is located in Cental Illinois. Anyone interested in getting in touch with him to make a deal? This is not going to be high end stuff, mainly commons, and stars, I saw like 30-35 sets of 1987 Topps, etc. He is not looking for a fortune, just wants a fair deal.
2. I got to grab some of the older cards from the collection, and some of the sets. I am looking to sell them as a collection if at all possible. There are 4-5 Mantles, Ted Williams, reggie jackson, etc, most of the big names from these years, large lots of guys like nolan ryan, mike schmidt, etc, large rc lots of randy johnson, curt schilling, greg maddux, Rcs of Dale Murphy, Gary Carter, Jack Morris, etc, along with odd balls, and a bunch of sets (7) 1989 upper deck sets, some early 80's topps and fleer sets, a few early 80's football sets. There is also some 70's and early 80's football, hockey, and basketball. Also, there are some oddballs, like 80's disc cards, mini metal cards, unopened A-Team packs, some unopened cheap wax, etc. Along with these there are probably 400-500 1950's and 1960's Topps Baseball commons.
I am thinking there is $3000-$4000+ cash value in cards here, maybe more, likely more, but of course they would need to be pieced out to maximize the profit and sales. I am not familiar with some of the oddballs, etc, and I am sure they could/can bring in some money.
So with that being said, is anyone interested in making a deal? We could set up a meet for you to look at them if that works.
