That video was awesome.....always loved his intensity and passion. Also liked that he preferred playing long-ball vs. trying to manufacture runs. RIP Earl....

That's exactly what I thought of when I saw the news scroll on the crawl on ESPN. Could tell it was GU because of the cigarette pocket behind the #4 on the jersey.

Suspended six times, some of Weaver's classic antics included shredding the rulebook on the pitcher's mound and storming out to home plate umpire Bill Haller – who had just called a balk on Oriole pitcher Mike Flanagan with one out in the first inning – and screaming: "You and your crew are here for one reason – to (bleep) us!" That one was immortalized for the ages as Haller wearing a mike at the time.

A great anecdote from the original obituary from the New York Daily News:

"When asked one time by Orioles outfielder Pat Kelly if he wanted to participate in team chapel and "walk with the lord," Weaver famously replied: "No thanks. I'd rather walk with the (bleeping) bases loaded."

Didn't Weaver also grow tomatoes in the bullpen for a few years?

Loved this guy growing up as an orioles fan. The media loved him also, he always had time to talk and had some pretty good one liners. He used to smoke it up in the dugout and believed if he didn't have a smoke between innings the other team would score. Sympathy to the Weaver family.
