Los Angeles Dodgers' Matt Kemp, left, is stopped by San Diego Padres' Clayton Richard when Kemp confronted the Padres' Carlos Quentin in the tunnel walk-way …

Didn't realize Clayton was such a big dude!

That was exactly my fisrt thought, assuming that's him and not Quentin in that picture.

As for Greinke, at least it wasn't a pick-up game of basketball.

There is no reason to charge the pitcher with a 3-2 count in a one-point game. Seriously. Quentin will be suspended for sure.

hopefully suspended for as long as Greinke is out - I think I heard 4-6 weeks on the sports radio -- since Quentin inflicted the injury and Greinke wasn't injured in the course of normal baseball activities.

He'll be ou tlonger than 4 to 6 weeks, and it's ridiculous to suspend Quentin for the duration of the injury. You suspend him for the normal length of suspension involved in charging the mound - it's not like he used a weapon. The collar bone break is a freak result. THat type of mentality lends to saying it's just as much Greinke's fault for dropping his shoulder... or Adrian Gonzalez's fault for not protecting Greinke when he saw Carlos charging.

Quentin has 40 pounds on Greinke who was not throwing at him intentionally. There is a reason why Quentin has been hit more than any other player since 2008 and it's because he stands right on top of the plate.

That pitch was way inside though. If he was on top of the plate when it happened, then fine but watch the replays.

Is this on top of the plate?

...honest question

No that was not on top of the plate but why would you hit a guy up 1 with a 3-2 count? I was just stating that Quentin gets hit quite a bit and there is a reason for it.

it's not ridiculous. Quentin never charges mound, Greinke never gets injured. Quentin should be out for as long as Greinke is becuase it's not yoru typical baseball-related XXXX happens injury (infielder spiked, pitcher blows out elbow, hitter strains groin, etc). Greinke's injury is directly related to Quentin in a non-baseball action situation.

Greinke should just be happy that wasn't Jorge Soler he hit. Damn.

And where is Mo Vaughn when you need him?

It is a baseball play. Baseball culture has long handled their business on the field. Hockey has fights, baseball does too. If MLB instituted suspensions for leaving your position or dugout it would be different, but they dont. Blame the culture not the player.
