...no mental toughness.

I'm old Greg

He has a social anxiety disorder for which he takes medication. That's like saying "he can't hit the plate" to a blind man. And guys with "no mental toughness" don't usually win the Cy Young on a BAD Royals team.

The broken bone is incidental. I can't believe Dodger fans are trying to make this bigger than stuff like people getting kicked in the face with cleats during the Reds (?) brawl a couple of seasons back... or bats (weapons) being thrown at umpires. If the guy is that brittle, then he needs to work on strengthening his bones.

Im not trying to make a bigger deal & I believe I even agreed w/ most of your pts in a previous post... My only argument was that punishment is based on the result of one's actions not the action itself. If two hitters are beaned and both throw the bat @ the pitcher w/ one missing completely & one causing serious injury then the punishment will be on case by case dont u think?

His anxiety disorder doesn't make him a mental weakling. His inability to handle what comes with his station in his professional life does. Winning a cy young has got little to do with his inability to function in his profession as an adult. That royals team was horrible though.

To those saying C.Q should be out the same length of time as grienke.. What if grienke had broken Carlos's forearm? Would he sit the 6-8 weeks?

Also the catchers location and grienke hitting C.Q. often certainly play more to the intentional than the non intentional.

Lighten up dog
All you're doing is coming off as a dodger hater.

No. I am a hater of the type of people that poke at dogs but sue when they get bit.

Hope this wasn't a shot @ me... I thought we were having an intelligent debate about punishing results vs. actions. I apologize if I somehow upset u because I have a different view. I never once said Greinke wasn't partly responsible... just said I was a Dodgers fan and admittedly that would sway my opinion. I see you like to use funny analogies like this and I believe you called Dodgers fans "butt hurt" in a different thread so it does come off as hating.

I never said anything about you, personally... but it's true that a lot of Dodger fans are exceptionally upset in a manner beyond the situation dictates. Hence - butt hurt.
But what I said of people suing when bit by a dog that they were provoking, I stand behind. When you step on that mound, you should assume - especially with the amount of experience Greinke has - that anytime a batter is hit that you need to know how to react (along with your team mates). As was said numerous times on ESPN Radio, the players that are meant to protect the pitcher in that situation reacted way too slowly... so instead of getting mad at CQ for charging the mound, here's a list of people you could possibly be angry at:

(1) The Dodger organization for laying so much money down for a player battling mental disorders that inhibit his ability to react in a fashion that reflects the danger.
(2) The catcher for yelling instead of reacting.
(3) A. Gonzales for being no where to be found.
(4) A pitcher who welcomed the confrontation and was too stupid to get out of the way when the guy charging him outweighs him by at least 40 lbs.

It's nothing against the Dodgers or any Dodger fan in particular. It's the mentality that surrounds situations like this that think it's someone else's fault, because THEIR guy got hurt. The same thing happened when Posey got run over.

Cool... We have been quoting each other alot so wasnt sure. I understand everything ur saying & I totally agree w/ u about posey. Heres my differences... The above makes it sound like u think everyone but the guy who charged the mound is at fault. While others may be culpable, I believe quentin is mostly to blame. Also I would argue that a collision @ home (posey) is a natural baseball play during the course of a game & charging the mound is not.

Greinke should have punched that ass---- in the kisser.

And why didn't A-Gon jump in? Simple. He was praying.

I wonder if he is going to blame God for Greinke's injury.
