Pujols had a 56 bedroom house in STL now he has a 63 bedroom house in LA good for him and that bigger contract.

I am a huge Pujols supporter and think he will get his 500 homerun within 3 weeks. I still think he will pick it up this year and end with great numbers. We will see.

That was precisely my point, he had already "struck it rich" long before he signed with Angels.It's not like he was making the league minimum his last years with Cardinals, and the Angels suddenly offered him 100 times what he made the year before.

I don't blame him one bit.
Just makes me sad for Cardinals franchise historical purposes. He was the next Stan.
The only part that bothered me about the entire thing is him saying it was a calling from God. No. Just admit you want the money. That's okay too.

The point about God is definitely true. A lot of players talk about God, praying, church, after they sign outlandish contracts. Wouldn't that amount of money be frowned upon my Jesus and his disciples? Pujols is philanthropic, but for him to allude to God when signing with the Angels is a bit ridiculous....
That being said, I'm a big Angels fan and I've watched him struggle since 2012. I hope he goes on a tear and sets new records because it's seriously FUN TO WATCH.

He is still doing a ton of good work in St. Louis with his foundation.
I commend him tremendously for that.
And the fact that the Cardinals have played great without him helps ease the blow of him leaving.

As I sit here wearing an Albert Pujols jersey I remember Pujols for his time here in St. Louis. I still think Albert can be one of the most dominant hitters in the game. Pujols was never suspended or even really mentioned in the steroid talks (other than people trying to create a story). I think Pujols will end this season with 35+ HRs and his .300 BA. He will hit his 500th within the next 2 weeks.

Adam Wainwright could have chose not to extend with St. Louis and make a LOT more elsewhere.

Pretty crazy that the guy has what, 7 years remaining on his contract and is 5 HR away from 500. Even if he averages 25 HRs per-season until his contract is up, he will end his career with around 700 HRs.

I never said he didn't make millions with STL.
I said he'll only get one chance to hit it huge so of course he's going to go to whoever offered the most money
I would and I'm sure 99% of people on this board would too.
I think it's hilarious how people bring up loyalty in sports. It's always the arguement that "well so and so isn't loyal because he left for more money!"
Maybe that's true to a degree, but where is the team loyalty? Teams lowball guys all the time and if a player doesn't succeed or has a bad year, they drop his ass.
Now, you're probably gonna say "well if a player doesn't perform well enough the team can drop him." Yep, very true. But if a player performs well enough to command a mega contract, then why is he considered a traitor to his team and city?
I find that double-standard funny
Kinda sounds like what we were saying about A-Rod back in 2010, except he already had 613 HRs. All he had to do was average 21 HR a year and he would beat Bonds. And from 2011-2014 he has averaged 10 HR.
