Wanted to share one of my personal favorites from my PC and from the 90's - not super rare but haven't seen one pop up in awhile.

Truly amazing stuff Chris! I think you have the #1 Griffey collection out there!

Lots of work over the last 15 years, for sure!

Probably second best though - not even in the same echelon as my friend down in Florida!

Can I interrupt for a minute? Had a pretty cool mail day. Got my old PMG back, along with a 99 UD Encore FX Gold /125 from a member here (cash/card deals). The (2) 98 Mystery Finest refractors were on ebay. Same seller, ended within 5 minutes of eachother. The one with McGwire was $3, the one with Clemens, $26. Weird.

Hey Guys,

I only need two cards to finish my collection. I'm willing to trade/buy heavily in your favor if you own them:

1999 Retro Inkredibles Level 2 Gold /24
2000 Ovation Signatures Rainbow /10

I have every other auto from the 90's and 2000 (Mariners only). I have some nice inserts/parallels I'd be willing to trade, on top of cash, for either of these two. Please message me if you have them and are interested in trying to work a deal. I promise it will work in your benefit.

Oh man those Super Signatures are IMO the greatest looking autographs out there such a nice clean design. Good luck with the /10 I've picked up the /50 and /100 over the years but rarely come across the 10 and can't even imagine what that thing would go for!

Good luck with your quest!

I know how much you like artists proofs and such. Hold onto your dough... I'm launching a ton of them next week. I was hoping for tonight, but probably not going to make it. Just got home from a forced 16 hour shift. I'm beat.

I agree...a great card that a few of us want! I have both versions numbered 8/xx. I bought them a few years apart and didn't even realize the similar serial number until I was sorting my photobucket. I guess I still have a chance to get all 8's/xx

Hey guys,

Haven't posted much on here lately, but I've got the collecting bug again. My Griffey collection is at a bit of crossroads, and I want to hear what some of my fellow Griffey collectors have to say. Allow me to explain..

One of my goals is to display my 24 best cards in a high end display cabinet. Something really classy. The decision I'm stuck on is whether to go raw or graded. I understand the pros and cons of both. My intention has always been to go graded, but I've recently started leaning towards raw. Being OCD to the max, I want all of my cards to be uniform. Consistently organized. While high quality slabs and neat labels may provide that, I don't like the fact that some of my cards will grade <9. That's why I'm leaning towards raw. I also think these cards look amazing raw. I think the case/label can take away from what really matters: the card's design quality. What do you guys think? Raw vs. graded on high end Griffeys?

With a display, you have to go raw. Your OCD will be 10 times worse staring at ugly labels with different grades. The cool cards + simple screwdown display brings focus to what's important - the cards. Slabs really take away from the cool design of the cards.

Not to mention at least 3-4 of those 24 will be horizontal cards that need to be displayed sideways. My OCD is driving me nuts just considering that decision - a sideways label, or a sideways card. Save the $240 it would cost to grade them, and buy a 25th card to display.

I prefer raw, ungraded Griffeys for my PC mostly because I don't plan to ever sell - thus, do not really care about how a card grades - and for the same reason you mentioned: the graded case takes away from the pure aesthetics of the card itself.

But It looks like you're already at a consistency issue given some of your cards are graded and others are ungraded; you could go raw for the cards you add to the PC from this point on.
