Hey all, been a while since I've been here. Kind of got out of the hobby for the past year. Anyhow, a friend of a friend is selling his collection and doesn't have time to go through everything so I said suuuure I'll help and we'll split the profits. Turns out it's kind of ridiculous. He has a giant collection of personally-autographed cards from essentially every team from 1980-2000. Hundreds and hundreds of cards.
To give you an inkling, there are:
20+ Jeter (including topps and score RC's and most minor league cards)
20+ Pettitte
10-15 Rivera
10 Posada
20+ Bernie Williams
Some Lowell, El Duque, Girardi, etc...
Then a ton of all the early 90's and late 80's Yankees: Sax, Righetti, Jack McDowell, etc.
I can provide some pics if needed. Most of the autographs are in pretttty good condition.
I've never dealt with personal autos and I had a few questions so bear with me.
1. What is the best way to sell the Jeters? Send them all to JSA? Is eBay the best bet?
2. Should I do the same with the Pettitte's, Rivera's, Williams, etc? or only the rookies?
3. Should I get the cards graded as well?
4. Do any of the older 80's and early Yankees have any demand?
I'm sure I could think of more questions, but it's late and I'm tired. Any help is appreciated!
