Where? I can't see it because I'm on my mobile
I agree. That's how I originally found the piece. Searching for glove wallets.
I'm not sure what he was referring to. I see a 01, not a 24 if its the Williams Knob..??

Ahh I see it's a new one on eBay listed under batting gloves, all kinds of wrong here. The same marker that was used on the Carew???

My concern isn't on the hand writing being the same but it's the same fricken marker used on both knobs, lolNot to be nit-picky but I don't believe they are the same. If you look at the Teddy 24 it is written in one clear stroke the 2 then the 4, if you look at the Carew 10 you will see that it looks like the 1 and 0 were traced over and over, neither was written with just one stroke. The fact that the Teddy is 24 makes me concerned about the legitimacy of the 10 Carew that I was previously non-concerned about.

Look at the color of the marker and tell me it's not the same color??
Also both the Carew and Teddy ( who has 2 variations in this set) are both Bat Barrel ends not bat knob ends!
That Teddy definitely looks like the end to me, but are you sure about the Carew? I originally thought knob but guess I'm wrong.
It's possibly that both of these bats are recycled bats that were passed down for other players to use them. Then some how topps was able to trace them back to the original player but said player saying so. I know I'm reaching but has to be something like that. Also you may be correct that a topps employee marked them to keep track not thinking topps would use the barrel ends in cards. They don't communicate very well at topps, lol.
If Topps is doing this it's a shame that they have such little respect for the intelligence of their memorabilia collectors...
Either that or they just don't care
Here is the Gibby I was talking about days ago. It's the only bat knob I have that's numbered that isn't associated with the player or in Gibbys case, I don't think so? Being that Gibby was a pitcher and dint use bats too often there could be a ton of explanations.
Now if you look at the bottom of the knob where it is blacked out it looks like the numbers 45 are still there only someone blacked it out with a marker. This could be a case of 2 different players or pitchers using the same bat?
