It matches the jersey I posted a picture of above which was Musial's from his personal collection...

Agreed the Musial image you posted is just like the Williams image, but trying to find matching uniforms in photos has not been successful yet - EDIT: Pinbreaker hooked it up, nice job on the photo match! I am thinking these were given after 1943 as the early images from the team Williams and Musial played on was the Chapel Hill Cloudbusters showing the piping style jerseys. Not saying either of those are fake by any means, but I do think it points a healthy finger towards them most likely not being game used. Although, even if they are game worn or event worn they are still nice pieces. The Williams at least comes with his last name stitched on the jersey. I know the Musial jersey number is also different than the MLB number, and the auction does state "The design is fittingly sedate for the times, a simple block lettered "Navy" arching across the chest and the unfamiliar number "14" on verso, evidence that Musial got no special treatment, even in the choice of his jersey number.". With that quote, it is interesting the Williams has his last name stitched on his jersey if that really was the case unless it was stitched on for his own personal collection afterwards.

You going after it Topnotchsy? Or still to many concerns? I have concerns with it

Still not sure. Threw out a very low bid that is be ok with but still too much that has not come together for me to really go after it.

Anyone know who the "Barry" that Williams referred to is?

What would bother me is " I had to have worn that for sure" this can be interpreted in different ways. Now I wouldn't expect baseball players to remember every jersey they wore but you would think he would remember with 100% certainty, from his navy days, if he wore that. The note to me means he thinks so but he not 100% positive.

I think it's safe to say that it was not something he had in his possession (Barry finds things no one else can...)

At the same time, it does seem like he was pretty confident about it.

Why would that mean it was not game-used? Musial definitely played in 1944-1945. I have signed baseballs from his WWII teams. Is there a reason to assume Williams didn't?

Barry halper maybe?

That was my first thought but I figure if his name was tied to it we would know.

I'm not saying it is not it isn't game used as I simply do not know. Looking up photos all of the ones I have seen where they are actually in a game show the piping jerseys. Plus, I am no expert. That post was too lengthy and I was just trying my best for photo matching.

Got it. I misunderstood.

I'm seriously considering going after it, so I want to make sure I know as much as possible and did not want to miss anything...
