From personal experience, I don't trust their population report. I had a whole order not show up on the population report 4 months after the cards where in hand. Once I noticed they were not on the site, they said they were behind on updating the report. I waited another 2 months and they...
First time I have seen the same serial number from a real and backdoored copy. I guess now we would have to assume the backdoored/fake copies cover all 100 serial numbers?
I don't think it matters what market he is in, closers in general don't usually have a big collector following. Not to say his card prices won't go up a little, but I doubt it will be much. Just my opinion.
Mine definately has scratches on it, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. Glad Rusty didn't bid me up too high. I had a snipe of $17.50 set on it, so I was happy to not come anywhere near that price.
Some recent pickups:
1997 Heroes of the Game Platinum Magazine Card
1998 Fleer Tradition Vintage 63 Classic
1998 Pinnacle Plus Gold Artist Proof
1998 Topps Stars N Steel Holpgraphic Gold ($4 deliverd, only 3rd I have seen)
What if the Angels win 4 World Series with him as a member of the team? Would everyone still be fooling themselves? I for one agree that he will go into the HOF with a Cardinals hat. But that doesn't mean there is not a shot he goes in as an Angel if he accomplishes more there. Or maybe we...
As Nosterbor said, it is easier to tell with them in hand. Scans don't always come out clear and sometimes don't capture the stars clearly in the background. As for the question about the stars, I am 100% sure the clear stars in the background are not the glowing. The cards without the clear...
The easiest way to tell is to check and see if you can see any stars clearly in the background. If the stars appear like they do on the right, it is not a glowing version. The left obviously in my scan is the glowing version. As for the COMC cards, both appear to be glowing versions, scans on...
He did lead the league in MVP votes in 1995 however.
With that said, I think Larkin is deserving and will likely get in this year.
I also think another player will get in just because not many players on the current list will have much of a chance the next 3 or 4 years with these players...
I recently purchased a signed Andruw Jones copy from 1997, Edition #57 platinum version #'d 164/600 on the front of the magazine. I was lucky enough to get a copy with the uncut sheet of cards still attached.
Anyways, my question is regarding the cards and the magazine itself. The cards...
Sweet find, are the ones in the picture the only ones you found this time around? I still have yet to see an Andruw! Any back story of where these came from?
I go BGS because of the protection. Granted, my slabs don't go anywhere, so PSA slabs would likely be just as protective. I just prefer the BGS slab as it is more bulky.
I would be lying if I didn't admit that I also prefer gems in my collection, but I do like to have my high value cards in...
1995 Andruw Jones Bowman Best Refractor
I haven't looked at beckett pricing in a long while, if for some crazy reason this card still books for over $100, someone please let me know. Unless you don't think I will have a problem convincing PSA it is no longer worth more than $100. ;)...
