Topps goes by the book value of a card when the replacement is requested. For the Paxton red, there was no book value, so apparently they have someone who researches comparable values (I've also heard they use someone from beckett for that) to pick a replacement as determined.
It'd be nice if I...
I agree it isn't fair in the sense that the card I was supposed to get was limited to 5, and was valued much higher at the time it was redeemed. However, I think that $150 is about all I can get for it if I tried to sell it today, so I suppose it's good enough of a replacement.
I originally bought the Paxton as a prospect investment (I let myself get suckered into the hype, that didn't work out...). Topps still doesn't have a contract in place for Paxton to sign his Chrome cards, and at this point I don't think they ever will. I had a bunch of Auto Golds and Oranges of...
I had a James Paxton 2012 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor Autograph /5 pending for over a year, and asked to have it replaced 2 weeks ago. I paid $450 for the redemption shortly after the product came out (I know I overpaid), and though I doubt it's worth anywhere near that much now if the card was...
It's no coincidence this guy waited 5 months to file a chargeback, as he's hoping the Delivery confirmation info would've expired, as that's usually only kept online for 5 months, after which you need to request the info and it is sent via letter or email (which I don't believe is adequate for a...
That's indeed odd. Since it's 1/2, this may be the first one to surface, so until now it was believed that it didn't exist?
The 2007 Just Minors box states 12 autos on the outside of the box. I got 10 "buyback" autos in 3 of the 4 outer "vault" boxes I opened, while one only had 9 autos.
I recall Brian Gray stating some of the cards in this product were never released in previous Just products, hence the "vault" part. That dual is possibly one of them. BTW this is technically a 2013 product, despite most of the cards being 2007/2008;).
I bought 2 cases, and opened 4 boxes so...
Placed a fairly large order with the Onyx Authenticated online shop for some Buxton autos 3 days ago, and my order still says processing. I've heard of the Onyx brand, but have never bought anything from their shop and was wondering if I should be concerned. I sent an email inquiry yesterday and...

You can buy insurance up to $5000 with first class. Priority automatically includes tracking, but NOT signature confirmation. Only Express comes with signature confirmation by default.
When you say scuffs, are you referring the very faint, visible only under direct light (not visible in scans), lines on the plastic surface of the slab? Those lines are already there when the slabs come straight from BGS.
If your item is $250+, and the buyer claims non-receipt, the tracking must show that the item was signed for. If it's only delivery confirmation without a signature, it's treated the same as no tracking whatsoever by ebay/paypal, and you automatically lose the case while the buyer gets a refund.
Signature Confirmation is not automatically included free with anything besides Express Mail. With items insured for over $200, USPS will require a signature for their own records, but will not provide such information online if requested, which is what the Signature Confirmation service is for...
Centering is probably the most subjective sub-grade for BGS. I subbed a card that got an 8.5 centering, cracked it and re-subbed a few weeks later and it came back with 9.5 centering.
I sold a total of 7 Puig Leaf Metal/Valiant/Ultimate Autos including two /99 and one /25 for a grand total of $176 in the offseason....WHOOPS::facepalm::
I don't think that's such a good idea, because then the card would arrive smelling like, well, a goat's scrotum. I'd imagine the odor is a cross between cigarettes and rotting fish.
How much was the item? And how much was S/h? Just curious.
BTW, you should probably use the "report this buyer" function to report his message. He doesn't have the right to stipulate how you may ship an item after the fact. If he had made this clear prior to buying the item, that's different.
