Wow. Great pickup for Atlanta.

Atlanta Braves ‏@Braves
The #Braves have acquired Alex Jackson from the Mariners, along with a player to be named later, in exchange for Rob Whalen & Max Povse

He's the epitome of a headcase. The reason he hasn't made it above Low-A yet is because he's got an awful attitude problem towards fans, teammates, management, and front office. Last year in Clinton he got in a fight in the locker room with a teammate which prompted a demotion to short-season ball.

Let's see what a change of scenery does for him.

Jackson has been exclusively used as an OF during his pro career, but there's a chance he could be used as a catcher.

The Riverlands.
The Mariners must know something the Braves don't, or Jackson is really that mental. Hopefully this change does him some good, but going into your 3rd minor league season and barely scratching the surface is rough.

I think hitting .233 in three seasons and striking out every third at bat also has something to do with it.

Great deal by the Mariners... the pitchers they traded for are only 2-3 years older than Jackson and seem to have actually succeeded/graduated the minors. It seems a lock the Braves convert Jackson back to catcher as nobody would trade 2 young pitchers for a RHH corner OF who sucks balls and has personal trouble.

Even if he was the nicest guy in the clubhouse I still think its a good trade.
