I own the Pujols, Holliday and Lacey wood 1/1's from Ginter. I sold the Kershaw for 500.

Who did you sell the Kershaw to if you don't mind me asking? If you're the one who had it up with a 500 bin originally then congrats on the sale. I still say you're extremely greedy. I made a very healthy offer for the card only to have you ask for more which I though was highway robbery. But if you found someone to pay it then more power to you and I then got a steal on this one:

I have been collecting these cards since 2006, I know how popular the wood minis are. When I pulled the Kershaw he was looking like Sandy Koufax. The crappy blank back 1/1, which is basically a card that topps makes and doesn't even put into packs sold for 500 (more than anyone, even Mantle). I wasn't about to take less for the more desirable wood 1/1. Worst case I ride the card into the playoffs where collectors have narrowed their focus. You really have to swallow your pride on these cards if you want to collect them all. Once they sell on ebay (if you even get that chance), you will never see them again. A few years ago collectors didn't know what they had and would blow them out at stupid prices, maybe some of you were able to nail them this year for cheap, but for the most part, collectors are realizing how popular these are are you are seeing the high BIN's. If you want these, then you have to pay.

I believe that the Chipper sold for 400+, of course he does have two 1/1's.

I'll agree and dis-agree with this. I have the 2007 and 2009 Glaus cards. Personally, they do NOTHING for me. I was offered the 2008 for $250 and I laughed so hard, I doubt I'll ever get another shot at it.

If anybody wants the 2007 and 2009 versions, I'll be willing to take $500. ::facepalm::

yeah maybe, but no one is really knocking down the doors to get Glaus these days, no offense, but some of the more
popular players get sick sick money. Im wondering if the seller of the 08 knew you had the other two?

Yup, agreed for sure and Im fairly sure he did know I had the other 2.

That said, I just sold a Glaus/Grieve auto for $100 and the 2009 Topps Chrome Super just sold for $200+. Its certainly hit or miss sometimes.

I guess my point is, I have a few cards in my collection I love and paid half or close to half of $250. I just dont see the appeal others do in these cards.

yeah that changes things, Im pretty sure if I had known the above guy had the other Kershaw I would of been
much softer, good thing for me I didn't know, I waited and got my price. I have been trying to do some plate sets and they are almost impossible. I would be willing to bet a two wood lot of Glaus would do better than you think on the bay, doesn't matter your collection is great either way.

Again, more power to you for the sale. I'm the idiot who has the blank back Kershaw and the only reason I won it was to block another bidder who was trying to corner the market on Dodgers. I have no desire for the card but was willing to pay anything to make sure he didn't have it. Smart? Absolutely not, but I let my ego get in the way on that one. I paid 181.50 for the wood you see above. I though it took awfully big balls on your part to turn me down at 325.00 and ask for more money. I guess my little price war on the blank back backfired as it raised the market needlessly so.

Congratulations on getting top dollar for the card. The bottom line is what it's about on ebay and you definitely succeeded and your conviction won out.

Also, just because I'm curious please pm me the winner. I won't contact them as I'm not looking to obtain the card but I do like to know who my competition is out there.

I see your collection, you don't need anyones approval on anything, but I have to ask why you would bid
to block someone on such a useless card? Many of those blank back cards sold for 40 bucks or less, and
most people just excuse them for what they really are- a ploy to make topps some money, and in my
opinion, take away from you and I, who have ripped the product are are trying to sell the higher end
cards.

You are right, without the nuts price on the blank back, I would of never dreamed of getting 500 for the wood
I had, maybe 350 tops and I would of been happy. We can't do anything about it now. Sorry it didn't work
out. I'll try to find the buyer's info for you.

Kevin, you are being incredibly gracious in the face of being called a greed monger. I commend you for your restraint. The truth is that desire for the card sets the market for the card, and somebody wanted it more than the poster that is taking issue with you. $350 is a healthy offer for the card, but $500 is even better.

I never understood the concept of "I have more 1/1's than anybody and thus deserve a break on the price", attitude anyways. If anything, spread the cards around a little bit and let everybody have a piece of the action.

I also find it slightly humorous that the blank back bid that was made out of spite ended up costing the poster the better card. There is a certain amount of justice in that if you ask me.

One of the reasons why the Glaus super went so high is because someone was/is trying to put together te Cardinal team set. Same guy paid $555 for the Pujols.

Is this legal? I'd hate to have my info given out like this.
