Hello all,
Recently My wife's grandfather passed away and I have been given the task to work on his card collection and sell it.
Don't get too excited they are mostly new cards, 80-1995 or so, so there is a ton of junk. He owned a coin/bike/jewelry/everything store where he would buy and sell just about anything. He often took in cards in trade, etc.
There really isn't anything of much value in here to be honest. Tons of stars, rookies etc.
SOOOOO, my question.
What is the best way to try and sell this stuff off?
I have started going through the colleciton and pulling out all of the major stars that I THINK I should sell in lots, etc.
There are probably lot sizes like this:
Griffey - 300-400
Thomas - 300-400
Ripken - 400-500
Similar lots of Gwynn, Brett, Boggs, Molitor, Yount, and all of the other stars.
Is selling them via lot on ebay the way to go?
What to do with the remaining 50,000-70,000 cards?
I thought about breaking them up into teams, but is that even worth the time and effort? What could I even expect for 2,000 random Cubs cards? $10?
Any help is appreciated.
