Just got done donating on my lunch break. Was my first time and their computers were down so took about an hour and a half! but it is done and I am back to business.

Fantastic. OK, this is the week. Go at lunch. After work. If you regularly donate but are not eligible to donate yet, get your next appointment scheduled. Get your roommates and spouses to join in.

It takes less than an hour in the door and out the door to donate whole blood. Many places have late hours once or twice a week. Take your headphones and listen to the ballgame. The time will fly by.

Good job spreading the word about donating blood. Locally we run our blood drives through INOVA. All of the blood donated at our blood drives is used locally, and we have found the donation process runs much smoother with them than with the Red Cross. Of course, your results may vary. I am signed up to donate again on Saturday, October 2, 2010. I have Blood Type A Negative which is not very common so I try to donate as often as possible.

Went and donated platelets today and watched Nacho Libre during the 3 hour process.

For those wondering if it is worth the time to donate platelets, it is. Platelet donations are vital to child burn victims.

Thanks a lot. This may be the first time in my life I won anything lol. More importantly though, the contest did a great job getting people out there to donate. I hope to donate again sometime in a few weeks when I am eligible again.
