1. slotting means nothing. Teams spend what they want anyway.

2. The ability to trade draft picks would be a DISASTER. Teams would continually trade away their best players for draft picks. At least with prospects, the players are closer to the big leagues....

Any reason the Pirates are in the Central but the Phillies are in the East? It doesn't balance things any better, as it would just make the NL East six teams, but it'd be cool to get an explanation.

AL west only has 4 teams, St.Louis is the American Gateway to the West,
sounds like a plan to me..

I would like to see a WORLD draft. No more Japanese, Cuban or other countries players going to the highest bidder. If you want to play Major League Baseball go into the draft.
