Didn't buy much back then but did pull a Matt Bush X-Fractor Auto and promptly sold it. Was worried I got out too quickly and left money on the table. Now, not so much :D

Thomas diamond kicked me in the balls! He will get that reciprocated if we should cross paths!

I was addicted to sp the duals and triples were sweet. Some big name hofers mixed with higher end prospects. The auto checklist was just insane in both names of prospects and quantity of autos. It's still one of the sets made with silver stickers that integrates them well.

Chrome was smooth and clean with a better qc than I've seen in years. I missed out on pulling or buying any of the big names but have about 50 Eric Campbell base ;)

Elite had style and flare to it. It's shiny goodness sucked several dollars at the local pit.

I still lean towards 05 as my favorite prospecting year. I still love chrome and elite. the heritage sets were good and even base topps had the opportunity to provide prospect firepower.

The die-cut Hot Prospest single packs were crazy as were all of the Elite parallels. But what I remember the most was the Bowman Heritage Mahogany. Those things were going for stupid money on eBay. I remember selling commons for $50-$75. Set builders are awesome!

Those die-cuts were never supposed to be released to the public if I remember correctly

Don't bring those up. I practically gave away some biggies by not following sales at all. And I still need a couple for my PC that I can only find at outlandish BINs.
I think I bought 6 boxes of EEE and 4 of them were hot boxes. Those were awesome

My first year of prospecting...ugh. Gaby Hernandez and Matt Macri still haunt me. Graded my first card in '04, a Tom Mastny gold refractor. 2005 was much better for me.

2004...oh the memories. That was a great year for prospecting and busting prospect-filled wax.

Greg Golson Gold Ref Auto (Pulled one and sent it to BGS. Received a Pristine 10 and sold it for $500+)
2004 Bowman Sterling was awesome with those Black Refractor Auto box-toppers. Its still one of my favorite card designs; very clean look.
2004 Fleer Hot Prospects Die-Cut autos
2004 Elite Dexter Fowlers autos (Had tons of autos and parallel autos. Made a nice profit on these back then)

Yes, Bowman Sterling kicked ass that year. All of the rookie autographs were on card. Those black refractors signed in silver were sweet.I remember buying retail packs of that stuff. Pulled a Cano signed refractor I still have today. And a McCutchen autograph the next year.

Man, those black refractors with silver ink were gorgeous. The vertical ones were on card, and the horizonal jersey autographs were stickers.

The vertical ones with stickers were 2nd year prospect cards though, no?Unless I'm mistaken, all the true rookie cards autographs were on card.Anyone still have any of those Bowman Sterling cards signed in silver?
