It's actual the 1st annual "Fans Edge Sports Spectacular"...presented by the Chicago Sun-Times. It's just a re-branding of the same old Sun-Times show. They're usually pretty decent but I will not be attending this one.

How are you guys getting there? Driving? Train? Any ideas on where to park?

Do you think there's any chance of getting one of those Pete Rose auto
tickets, or will there be a 1000 people there already at 5:00?

Unfortunately I'm leaving straight from work, so I am going to look like
an absolute scrub in khaki shorts and a dark grey t-shirt.

I did however happen to bring my white Cubs hat with a black bill,
and a black "C" on the dome.

I just looked up that parking garage too. $13 bucks!!
Good thing admission is free today :D

For those who are driving, keep driving north on River Road and you'll see a giant parking lot on your right after you go under the highway. That's the CTA lot, and you can park there for I think $3 and walk half a mile to the convention center. It's much cheaper and really easy. You could park for free, as I don't know if they check, but I always go to the south end of the lot near the main station and pay the $3 to the machine so I can prove I paid in case they start handing out tickets.

EDIT- CTA BUMPED UP THE PRICE OF PARKING TO $5, NOT $3.

I was thinking about doing that, but are you allowed to park there if you are not taking the train?

I've parked there at several past shows with no trouble, and there are always plenty of other convention goers doing the same. The lot is huge, so I don't think they'll run out of room and they should be glad for the extra revenue.
