Just a quick note to let anyone interested know that we will be doing at this years national convention.

1. We will 100% be destroying all unsold (unsigned) metal cards at the 2009 National convention.... We are considering destroying all by hand (paper cutter) so the destruction takes the entire time of the show (dont want anyone to miss it). Anyways, the destruction will start on sneak preview night and last every day.

2. We will have wrapper redemptions for promos from several upcoming products . All of these upcoming products (for which well have promos) are fully LICENSED products and we are certain that collectors will be eager to get their hands on these promos. In addition, we will be sprinkling in NEVER RELEASED BASE, BLUE AND GOLD MICHEL INOA METAL CARDS (unsigned). Redeemable products will include: 2008 Letterman Baseball, 2008 Signature Baseball, 2009 Sports Icons, 2009 Ink Archives, 2009 Historical heroes cuts, 2009 National Special Edition Cut signature (to be released exclusively at the national - more on that below), and "M" Baseball (more on that below).

3. 2009 National Cut Signature Special Edition: at this years national, we will be releasing a cut signature edition product EXCLUSIVE to this event. This will be a cut signature product designed much like our 2008 Cut Signature and Encore entertainment driven products. Production will be a tiny fraction of our previous ENCORE release...AND ONLY AVAILABLE from Razor direct accounts set up as dealers at this event!!!!!

4. At the 2009 National, we will also be releasing a unique item (which we alluded to last night) that we call Razor M Baseball. This product will contain a great cross section of remaining Razor Metal 2008 singles. Loads of Wieters, Beckhams, Etc will be in this product PLUS all cards which were not paid for on ebay which creates the opportunity to pull some SOLD OUT cards. ALL of these cards will be sealed in a holder by an exclusive uncirculated sticker. While we have yet to finalize the components of the box exactly, we do know that we will be cutting up a very rare TEAM USA MATT WIETERS jersey to build 2009 Distinction AUTOGRAPHS, AUTOGRAPH JERSEYS AND AUTOGRAPH PATCHES (WITH A MINIMUM OF ONE DISTINCTION WIETERS AUTO PER BOX!!!!!!!). The item will be packed very similarly to the Donruss Black box. However, we will be adding iconic memorabilia item redemptions that can be redeemed right there at our booth at the National... ON THE SPOT!...

5. Lastly, for the first time ever. RAZOR will be doing something the hobby has been begging for. We will be scanning and making available on our website prior to the event, scans of every patch card in the product. We strongly despise the fake patch epidemic currently under way and we feel this takes a vital step in assuring consumers DO NOT get taken advantage of by less than honest sellers.

Sorry for the long post, but many members have asked us to to reply within threads so we wanted to go the extra mile to insure that we were as clear as possible on issues. If you have any questions, feel free to reply on the boards and we will PM answers (which we invite you to share with the masses) or PM or email me at [email protected]....

Hope this adds clarity and gives our fans some excitement.

They have always listened, they just haven't gotten the credit they deserve.

They need to tell their friends at UD to do the same thing and then maybe Topps will follow suit and then we can put an end to the fake patches.

2009 Historical heroes cuts,
So this stuff will be live by the time of the National.
Sounds like Razor booth is going to be crazy at the National. Should be fun. Gotta figure out a way to make the show. Could be the best National ever.

The drive to the National is getting more and more tempting as it draws near...

Nice work Brian, scanning patch cards is exactly what we have been looking for and I commend you for taking that step.

I completely agree! While I don't collect GU, there are many out there that do and this will lend a great deal of credibility to your cards not only now but years down the road. 3 years from now if someone sees a Razor patch they will not have to debate in their mind whether it is a fake or not.

Quick replies to many of our questions BG
Nice job

Thumbs up to scanned patches
Now if companies will only listen to the public and make sure that ALL signatures/autos are legit
Fake autos = bigger problem than duped patches

Another quick question, does anyone know who won the Strasburg USA jersey?

Don't take this as a rip on Razor because I feel they have made a nice rookie year splash into the baseball card industry but I would be interested to know how other people outside of this message board feel about Razor. The National hoopla and plans mentioned on this board make it appear as if the National will be all about the FCB/Razor Booth (ie Matchpenalty's comment that "this will be the best National ever!"). Don't get me wrong, kudos to all that = planned and pretty sweet. But, to average Joe collector from Topeka, Kansas or Seymour, Indiana -- will they even walk away from the National knowing that Razor exists?
I guess it's the "best National ever" comment that made me think about this

I've been to 4-5 Nationals and know how HUGE everything there is from displays, to promotions, to guests, etc. I know it isn't possible but it would be interesting to read what the opinions of Razor (or for that matter any isolated booth) are as paid customers leave the National.

What are the plans this year for the draft products?

Perhaps they will be included within this Razor "M" product?

Brian, can you shed any light on this?

That is why advertising happens, whether it be here, Beckett or the National. Maybe the answer is "no" but maybe it is "no, not yet." Topps was not nationally known overnight and for Razor or any other brand that hopes to make an entrance into the market, it too will take time.

I'm curious, what does the "M" stand for?

That old lady from James Bond movies.
