Porcello & Wells IMO (Wells got the "W" today against the Chicago White Sox after going: 7.0ip, 6K's, 2.57ERA, 1.00WHIP...which is a pretty sweet outing)! :D

Porcello and it isnt really close.

Porcello has been very good. I am definitely surprised that his strikeout numbers have been so low.... 4.5 per 9 innings is weak for a power pitcher.

Randy Wells.

In 2 of his 3 losses the Cubs have scored 2 runs total while he pitched 14 innings striking out 14 in those two games.

He could easily be 4-1.

7 of his 9 starts he has allowed 2 runs or less.

THAT is impressive.

Half the pitchers on that list would be undefeated with run support like the Tigers give Porcello.

The only reason he has impressed me is because of his age, if he was 22 he would blend in.

He gets a ton of ground balls. The Ks will go up in time and we'll have a potential Halladay-esque guy on our hands.

No Ricky Romero?

As of me posting right now here is his line vs Phillies.

61 PC, 3.2 INN, BBI, 5 K, 0.273 WHIP. He has come around this year!

Edit: He just fanned Ryan Howard

64 PC, 4 INN, BBI, 6 K, 0.250 WHIP

Another name that doesn't have an impressive ERA but will battle (and possibly win) ROY over Rick Porcello:

Brad Bergesen

He is cruising again tonight and has been solid in the month of June.

If he wins tonight he will be 5-2 and a sub 4.00 ERA.

Someone who comes out of nowhere and wins the ROY over a heavy favorite has to impress you the most.
