Any idea if the Beckett poster is looking to selling some of the set? I'd be very, very interested in card # 169 Robby Thompson of the San Franciso Giants or any other card that has a cameo apperance of Robby Thompson.

I said:
Are you looking to move any of these? I know someone looking to pick up Robby Thompson's and cameos as well. Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks!

HE said:
At the moment they're apart of my personal collection.

If I make the decision to move them individually, I'll post a new thread and start taking offers.

Thanks, I appreciate the heads up!

Anytime man.

IF it gets broken up, I'd want the Gary Gaetti for sure, and the player collectors here (and on Beckett, I'm sure) would have a field day.

there's a slight chance I might be interested in a Butler

edit: anyone have a link to the Beckett thread?

edit #2: nevermind, it was on the first page of the baseball board... link goes here

oh, and here's the real question: are these with or without the copyright line? 'Cause we player collectors will need both.

So again, 1 set of these got "back-doored" out of UD, almost 2 years after their only 2010 product was released, which none of these ever got pulled from by the way, ends up on a table at a "garage sale", which has now become a "swap meet" by the way, and we automatically assume they are legit?

It's been awhile since I was over at Beckett. My old log in and password worked, but I've been inactive for so long it won't let me reply on a thread or do anything. I'm in the BMB Hall Of Fame, for crying out loud!

Actually, what I recall seeing was on the front of the box in block letters, in one upper corner.

Something doesn't add up with that thread. It all seems fishy. Cards look legit though.

Card. He's only posted the Griffey that I've seen.

And he joined Beckett just to ask if anyone had any knowledge about them?

Thought he sent a member here a picture of the Henderson as well.

I would imagine that UD bought all of these in 2009 to prepare for the 2010 release. Then prior to the 2010 release they lost their MLB license so they can't show teams or logos on cards. Even though they walked a fine line on a lot of 2010 cards, they couldn't get away with these cards that obviously show teams.

So they are stuck with these cards that they can't air brush and can't release, even though all of their marketing materials say they should be in there. I would lean towards the fact that they are real and haven't been seen because of the license issue. But who really knows?

They released ONE 2010 product, and then got sued. They didn't even put out any sell sheets for it.

If somebody has one, please link it up, but I can't find a 2010 Upper Deck basebal sell sheet.

Hell, from what I can find, there aren't even any references to baseball on upperdeck.com anymore.

I can't even find the checklists for their older, licensed products.

I can't find it, but remember seeing it and thinking it was a dumb idea to do 20th anniversary of a second set buybacks.

Yeah, but those are a lot more classic sets than 1990 Upper Deck.
