How am I ruining the hobby by not liking a crappy unlicensed product?

People tend to not respond well when the first thing you do is try to find ways to spam the Basbeall hobby board with purchase offers. And don't say "You didn't know", because there's a TOS and Rules thread prominently displayed.

Following decorum with regards to a community in which you are new is probably the biggest lesson you could learn. Everyone is welcome here, but to call people miserable when they don't like your.. I mean.. "A product" is tasteless. Especially when you say they are ruining a hobby, because they don't like it.

Here's some advice - if you are so hard up about buying this product, there's plenty unopened on eBay.

Out of curiosity, I found this company's site and checked out the address on Google Maps. As suspected -- out of someone's residence.

It's not a good product, in my opinion, but no need to knock trwilson08 for his opinion on it. It does have certain redeeming qualities. There are autos in this checklist that I don't think have been in any other product. It's an extensive checklist (800 players). The cards come pre-slabbed and authenticated by a reputable name (personal disclaimer though - I'm always leary when I read that an authenticator looked at 9,000 autos in a relatively short amount of time. Lot of opportunity to "rush" authentication.) The auto area is pretty massive - not very much in the way of cut-off autos, unlike a lot of UD cards I've seen.

If you like cut autos on cards that emphasize the auto and not the player, then these cards are a fine outlet for your collecting. IMO their production value is too far on the low side and their checklist is weighted with too many commons to justify their cost at retail, but discount singles on the secondary market could be tempting, if they can be picked up at or a just a little above the cost of a signed index card of said player.

People post here often with a negative view of a product that many like and those negative posts get blasted. Here, you have a positive post on a product that many dislike...and the positive posts get blasted.

Apparently, one can only follow the sheep mentality here and not post their own thoughts. Now, granted, the OPC should have provided box breaks and given more of a reason to like it, but... there's no reason to assume he's the manufacturer.

That's not really saying much. I wouldn't expect a full scale factory for a product like this where everything is outsourced. If they had a PO Box, would you feel better?

Just so it's sorted - I didn't lambaste the guy for liking the product. Now, I may have said the product was crap - which should be just fine. As for those that originally suggested he has some affiliation.. well, that's a toss-up. I certainly have no problem with the guy, but I am intrigued by his thought process on how me not liking a product makes me ruin the hobby.

What dont you understand, you came here and asked for our opinion on the product. Everyone here pretty much agrees that the product stinks. Theres nothing wrong with you collecting what you like but dont get upset when your the only one here who likes this product.

Just kidding. It's a nice house, but I really would have expected a P.O. Box.

I didn't think showing my liking for it and trying to get more of it was "spamming" Maybe you should leave that for the moderators.

Dang, just saw the checklist, and "Mack" Grace is on there. There are some cards of modern players, will be interesting to see if some of the player collectors on the boards accept these cards or not (somehow I think they will, and go after their guys).

For the record, I was the one who asked whether or not he was affiliated with this product's manufacturer.

But that's typical for me, a natural pessimist when it comes to promotion attempts. The OP says he is not affiliated, so I'll accept that.

So the "your... 'A product'" remark was lambasting? It was an expanding opinion of previously stated remarks and hardly an insult. (Though it being considered an insult to say he's affiliated is pretty funny.) If that hurt anyone's feelings - I'm sorry - but I don't wear kiddie gloves.

I also didn't say you were "spamming". I tried to suggest that the proper place to say "I am buying any and all" would be the forum dedicated to transactions where your 1st topic got moved to.

I just saw that too Jeff...Huggins & Scott Auctions relative.

That explains a couple things...great relationship with PSA and dirt cheap cuts.

Price point to me is still extremely high for the vast majority. Not looking for 100% return, but people were hammering Razor's PSA slabbed card product where some cards were a mere 25% return...most of these are looking at 10%. Plus, it's a lot easier to swallow a PSA slabbed card of a HOFer than a plain-cut autograph of a one-time all-star.
