Kevin, the time out for not sending is a fair idea but if someone does not send why would a time out negatively effect them? The "Must send first" would be a better deterrent imo.

The deposit is fair as well and if implemented all participants should do so not just people with less time here.

I think people are just to leery after past failed years. Last year was the worst I have seen. People failed to say thanks for great cards, people sent crap, and others volunteered to bail out "High End" gifts that failed with no thank you.

Last year definitely showed the "thats not what it gets on ebay" road ::facepalm:: ...although there were some equally VERY NICE gifts as well as the HUGE GREATNESS of you, Kevin and a couple others pitching in for those who got screwed in the high end "no send" crap.

If paypal is not a good idea, which I think it is (if you have funds to participate you should have funds to drop a deposit for "safety"), then how about something along the lines of number of posts (something like 30 per month upon membership date OR 500+ posts/2+ trader feedback with 0 negs and neutrals/Jan 1st 2010 or older members on average or something of the sort?

Last years fiasco was in large part due to the fact that the software we had was damaged and it got all screwed up. I think that with the tracker spreadsheet we have this year, we won't have that issue again. I'm just gonna limit it to the January 1st of this year and we will go after and I mean GO AFTER people that don't send this year.

Another option could be newer members must send earlier, such as a week earlier and show their DC number as proof.

I thought about that, but then if they don't send, then the person that has purchased for that particular person is stuck with stuff that they may not be able to move otherwise.

Last year was bad now that I remember, picked up two Musial patch autos for my victim. Database issue messed up and I wasn't really upset with being stuck with two vintage Musial patch autos numbered under 25. I feel bad the original victim missed out on them. My second victim lucked out and knew it was me though, the card was in my sig for a while. But I knew it would be deep pc and never let go. If I'm your SS, most likely will go overboard as usual. Just be very descript on what you want.

Last day for signup is Friday at 12 midnight EST.

I will take a look when I get home and see how many we have. I don't have the spreadsheet handy.

I may extend the Signups by a week or so. I was hoping we would have more people than this. I think that with Mr. Commons and I tracking this year like we are, it will be a success. I also have the goon squad on standby to break some kneecaps if people don't send.

Since Marro hooks up his SS "victim", please make sure he gets me, or I might send the goon squad looking for you! :D

Yeah, I called all of them! LOL. I hope that everyone, regardless, will be as generous as they possibly can. That's what makes these fun.
