With the lockout and players not being able to be traded.... teams are stretching for QBs since they dont know if they can get Kolb or one of the other good vet QBs.... so they take a QB way too early.

I watched nearly every FSU game throughout Ponder's career

I never once thought "Hey, this guy can play in the NFL."

He had to be too good to pass at that spot. I'm not a Fairley fan but he fits their scheme and the players around him will help him develop into a more consistent player.

I realize that but if/when they get started, people are going to be available and we know they're not going to start him unless they've lost their damn mind. Know that you're going to bring in a journeyman QB (or play Tavaris/Joe Webb) and roll the dice on getting a decent QB in the next round.

Seems like a waste of a quality pick when we know this is a weak QB class.
