I was also looking at it but based on initial bidding, I'm thinking that it's going to blow past my snipe amount within the next couple of days.

I'm the current high bidder, but I might not go higher. So depends on your snipe, you might win.

I don't follow this set, or modern game-used in general, but I have a question. Is the bat on the Joe Jackson card actually a Joe Jackson bat? My (very limited) understanding is that Jackson bats are incredibly rare. Not just expensive, but rare to the point where there are only two or three known authentic examples.

The card doesn't actually say that it's a Joe Jackson card. It simply says that Panini guarantees "the enclosed game-used material."

So, who used the "material" in question?

Am I off on this one?

Some of the GU pieces in this set are amazing. It is very unfortunate that Panini doesn't have MLB licensing, the lack of which greatly detracts from these cards.

Very nice, looks like you have some stitching etc. there.

Some other Robinson Prime Cuts from 2008 have sold recently

[phil]320854828873[/phil], [phil]260978742517[/phil] and [phil]120889262423[/phil] - makes those patches up right now seem all that much more insane price wise.

Button hole > GU jacket ;)

This year's GU jacket are 30% down from the 08 set, I remember I had to pay $60 for a single piece GU jacket, now they can be had for $35-$40.

Well, the Jackie Quad with AIR holes got pulled!

Guess I can increase my bid on the double, since 95vr put me in the #2 spot.

homerun28aa: Why are you so surprised? It's not everyday you come across Robinson AIR holes & prime patches/stitches. Man up. These won't be cheap.

Airholes; they are airholes not button holes. See top of hats, under arms, and in crotch areas.

You're kidding right Joe?You started off by saying it wasn't a patch.Don't try to turn it around now and insult me.

Don't be vain. This isn't about you.

You asked him if he was even looking at the card. Don't be shocked when he calls you out for being a queen.

That for sale somewhere? Thanks for throwing in the unprovoked insult too.

Actually no. I googled "Gehrig Patch". Sorry, but it's just old seeing the "innocent card" played when you have blood all over your hands.

that gehrig is not really a patch per say. Just a nice jersey

How's that?

I disagree I just don't see this piece that different then a multi window triple threads or premier that sell for 15- 25%the of what this sold for

Despite the die-cut windows, it contains a huge piece of vintage PATCH from a Gehrig gamer. Are you being thick on purpose? Or are you just not looking at the card? How many Gehrig PATCH cards can you find me for sale right now?

Are you always this whiney? If it is one jumbo piece why cover it up with all those windows. I dont think there are too many people that would prefer the patch like this over just one jumbo piece. Even you can't argue that but you probably will.

So I guess because I asked if he was being thick, that's the blood on my hands you're referring to?

Dramatic much?

In a previous post, I had asked for another Gehrig patch listed "for sale" somewhere.

No drama. Sorry I didn't see your request and wasn't catering to your wants. I was simply posting it to show that there are in fact Gehrig patches. There are actually ones from 1939 Centennial Patches as well.

Actually you asked him if he'd even seen the card. Well of course he had.

New auction listings should start tomorrow when retailers are allowed to sell/bust. Then the fun will begin.
