So they will have Newton sitting in a hotel room wearing a jersey with 50 patches sewn on it, great!

I'd like to figure out how they pick the players that they invite.

Eagles, Bears, Buccaneers, Panthers, Seahawks, Jets, Steelers, & Texans don't have a single player.

Packers, Lions, 49ers, Patriots, Dolphins, Bengals, Vikings, Titans, & Chargers have at least 2 players.

Also saw this interesting note in an article about the Premiere on Pro Football Talk.

This year, despite the lockout, the event will nevertheless occur. But a source with knowledge of the plans says that, for the first time ever, the rookies will be wearing their college uniforms.

UPDATE: The NFLPA contends that the players will be wearing pro jerseys with their college numbers. Which means that Cam Newton will wear a Panthers jersey with the number 2 even though that number currently belongs to Jimmy Clausen. Per our source, the plan as of yesterday was for the players to wear college jerseys.

Hank!

Who the hell is Edmund Gates, and why was he invited?

Well if Gates can just show that he is competent he could wind up the Dolphins starting WR opposite Marshall (not counting Bess in the slot). Or if he isn't a "starter" he's going to be counted on to be in the rotation....he was drafted to be the "deep threat" and speed guy in Miami.
Though if Henne's starting it probably won't matter how fast and good he is.

So I'm not shocked he's there.
There are a few head-scratchers there...I did the "who" with Vincent Brown and the "really? " with a few guys like Alex Green. Those guys may make you wish you pulled Gates.

Yeah I almost posted he's Ginn 2.0......but as a Dolphins fan I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Though to be honest that may not be the worst thing in the world. Hopefully he won't be as "soft" as Ginn was, but if he has that type of production - I think perception would be much different - that kind of production from a 3rd round pick is pretty good, not so much when you're a top 10 guy.
I'm sure the Dolphins are hoping he's closer to the next Mike Wallace...which Gates drew some comparisons too, due to his measurables. So we'll see...

Hmm that would be interesting with Kyle Rudolph in Vikings uniform wearing #9 ::facepalm::

Awesome post, Gellman.

I LOVE this Hankerson "Inception" - http://www.sportscardsuncensored.com/wp ... 1/05/9.jpg

It's kind of funny yet sad how the players are wearing so many jerseys at once that they look like 500 pound Eskimos. I figured they put on a jersey, took it off, put on another one. Not put 10 on at a time. Not that it makes that much of a difference.

That's what usually happens, but I think Ingram took it upon himself to do that from the reports I got. Then other people started doing it to save time.
