Okay, so I stopped by Target on the way home from work and picked up a couple packs of 2011 Topps.

I am completely blown away by two of the insert sets, and I'm never impressed with base Topps.

1. Diamond Anniversary parallel.
These cards feature an atomic refractor styled border/background and just scream "build me" for the set. Falling at a couple per box, it could be a fun quest.

2. Champions of Games and Sports minis.
This 50 card set is what retro sets should look like. Perfect for IP or TTM autographs while retaining a truly vintage feel in simplicity and layout. The backs were a total afterthought as they simply feature the player number, card number, team name and then the 50 card checklist, but these are great.

There are still some of the lame, over done inserts like the reprints, etc...but these two should generate some interest...at least with me.

Don't care for the mini, but this one is badass.

Mike - did you clean it up at all, or did you just scan and post?

I just scanned both and posted...no Photoshop trickery. The Diamond Anniversary Parallel look better in person because it just pops off of the card.

Also, looking the the scan, the Kimball mini set has white borders, the black edge is from the top of my scanner.

How many in the Diamond set?
The entire base, including all of the legends variations.

There is also a gold 1/1 parallel like these.

Dawson also has a 60th anniv. relic and auto in this, and the autos look to be on-card.

Those reprint relics/autos look really nice! The "here's yet another straight anniversary reprint" (Jackson) they could do without
