I was thinking about buying 3 hobby boxes or 1 jumbo box. It is about the same amount of money (+ - $200).

Now i'm checking the odds and roughly (i mean roughly), you get this:

3 Hobby Boxes:
5 paper blue
3 paper orange
Thin chances of Red, Red Ice, printing plate
18 Refractors
3 Blue Refs, except 1 box out of 4, you get a better color or a bowmans best refractor /99 or less
2 base prospects autos
1 refractor auto (ref or any color)

1 Jumbo Box:
1 paper blue
1 paper orange, red, red ice or a printing plate
3 Refractors (that's a huge difference)
1 Blue Ref out of every 2 boxes
1 other colored refractor out of every 5 boxes
1 base prospect auto + 72% chances of 1 more
80% chances of a refractor auto
Blue or better auto in 1 box out of 3

The other nice stuff (Black autos, Aflac, GU...) come with better odds in the jumbos, but in my opinion it's negligible unless you open tons.

And there is 136 Chrome cards (rookies or prospects) in 3 Hobby, 72 in 1 Jumbo.

Hobby should get a better return for my $200.

Jumbo is almost always a better bet to buy during a presell. But unfortunately you weren't likely to get ANY jumbo at pre-sale prices unless you ordered a ton of hobby as well

Or unless you ordered from BO.

Or unless you ordered from BO.

They were barely available on BO if I'm not mistaken. Only listed as FS for a very limited time. I know I looked fairly frequently after the jumbo product was announced and posted and dont think I ever actually saw it FS on their site. Maybe I'm wrong.

Certainly at the current price point hobby is a much better way to go

I bought my jumbo from them.

Jumbos were listed for a very short time on BO at I believe 925-975 per case. I don't remember the exact figure. I think they listed it before they realized how limited it was was going to be. People who locked in during that small window of a few days got an absolute steal. Blowout honored the pre-sales that occurred during that window. I will ask my neighbor what his case cost because he has a confirmed jumbo case coming from them.
