ah, I guess I gave everyone a really good laugh--sorry for being a little ignorant when it comes to Bowman. I didn't realize you could only have ONE Bowman auto.

I know Kershaw has a 2006 bowman chrome draft auto and then another one in 2008--what are the "rules" behind that?

I mean, I see "1st Bowman Card" on multiple cards over multiple years of the same players so wasn't really sure that they any followed any sort of rules...

You can certainly have more than one Bowman auto, but it's because he was considered part of the "prospects" set while in the minors. He had another one again at a later time after he'd been called up and is considered part of the "rookie" set.

In Bauer's case, he is still a prospect and has yet to be called up.

First off, thank you. Secondly, I think your point is well made and you are right on. The truth is that the more options you have for a player, the lower the potential price point is. That is the same for all products, not just the secondary choices. I feel that too many folks panic, and panic fast when they see another option coming out.

Let use Chris Sale for example. I would choose his chrome auto as the #1 choice for card to have. But sterling base autos prove that there is money to be made. You could grab these For $2-$3 each for quite some time. I just sold multiple BGS 9.5/10 sterling base autos for $35 each. I also just recently bought 8 more sterling base autos for $3 each. I am guessing I will quadruple my money on those. I realize this is off topic, but there is plenty of financial gain to be had on the "secondary" cards of many players.

I think GA clarified what I was unable to do. As pointed out in his post and yours here, I'm don't think we are really disagreeing.

And as you point out (and I'm sure you have done many times) the savvy investor knows that shifts in the market (even a downward shift) when anticipated, can lead to nice investments. Buying Sale when his Sterling's are overlooked is a great way to net bigger profits, and for the investor that's really the point.

Originally, I wasn't going to order any this year but after seeing the checklist, I changed my mind. I just worked out a deal for four Jumbo Cases and I'm in the process of trying to lock in on five more. If I can find more Jumbo cases at ~$850 or less, I'll be picking up several more to go with the ones I have locked in / working on now.

That would be $400+ lower than what other dealers are offering it for. I would jump on 5 @850 immediately

While I agree they are not fake, I think we can all agree that these are more desirable.
