I like Leaf products and I like the idea of a new golf product.

I just reaaallllly want to see Leaf come up with a new 1/1. Been saying it for a while. Sure we all love superfractors, but a NEW card that is Leaf exclusive would help you guys create your own image. Just my opinion.

How about using the "valiant" technology for 1/1's? Or the valiant technology combined with superfractor technology (if thats possible). I dunno, just something that is yours and yours only.

We just ran some test proofs from football on ebay.... checkout the "white" proofs..... thoughts?

Is that chrome technology? If so, they look great, and probably even better in person.

Do you know why 06-08 bowman draft products were all silver refractors (same as leaf prismaticos) but then mysteriously stopped in 09 and have yet to reappear?

I like them. Not sure they ring "1/1" to me though. I need to see them in person. Potential is there though!

Im not a big fan of the design of this set. For golf, I would much rather have a classic white design then the chrome multi-colored design used for the baseball and football sets, and I think many major golf collectors will feel the same way. I don't know if it will effect the secondary market value on these cards though since it has been so long since a golf release.

Completely agree on all points. Golf is not a "chrome" sport, and I sort of think it's becoming much too easy to tell the "new" leaf from the old leaf, I'd like to kind of stay true to the company's past. Still feels like Razor.

Curious, do you feel like a majority of the 2011 Topps Baseball products are like "the old Topps"?
BG

Fair point. Somewhat, but not much outside of the base set.

Baseball wasnt a chrome sport form the 1880's to 1993.
If we can make the trasition form cardboard to chrome in baseball after over 100 years of conditioning, I bet Golf cards (which are 30 years old) can easily handle the transition too.

and, if not.... future sets won't be metal! Its that easy... Well let the market decide...

Correct, baseball wasn't a chrome sport until the "prospect age."

Golf still hasn't reached a prospect age to me, it's still a historic sport. I don't think of gleaming cardboard when I think of golf, I think of pretty basic, yet elegant, designs.

Stricker, please! He's the best American golfer, so he NEEDS to be in the set.

If you want, I can go knock on his door; he lives down the road from me.

I just have to tell everyone that after reading all 8 pages of this thread, I called my LCS and asked them to order me as many at they could, up to 3 cases. He called Leaf right away ( already had one ordered ) and is working on getting me 3 cases. I've been a fan of Leaf's products this year and I think this one is going to beat out most of the others. That checklist is insane!!!!
