The base set cards show a color 'art-style' action shot of the player. The cards are bordered in white The set name is in the upper left corner. Along the bottom there is a graphic with the player's name and position. There is also an AFC or NFC shield with the team logo in the bottom corner. The card backs are photo-less. The plain white backs have black text that again detail the player's name, position and team logo. The backs list brief biographical information, a 'Magical Memoranda' list of career highlights and a trivia question.

2012 Topps Magic is loaded with RCs. This product will appeal mostly to prospectors. I like the fact that Topps Magic includes retired stars, active veteran players and rookies in the same set. The inserts are good and there is something just cool about the mini and sepia micro cards this year. The autos are sticker autos but do not detract from the card too much. I was right on with the stated odds of pulling three autos per pack. I have personally never been a fan of 'art-style' cards, but I have seen worse looking ones compared to these.

The Bottom Line:
I give 2013 Topps Magic a soft shop rating depending on what you are looking for. Loaded with rookies, good. Needing two boxes and light trading to complete the base set, OK. Confusing and incomplete short print and autograph short print lists, could be better.

Overall: 37/50 (74% = C)
The biggest drawback being that you will need two boxes for a complete set.

I gotta say I think you're rating is too low. I'd put in more at a B or even B+.

I love the design and the SPs aren't that confusing. Not alot of great autos in the set but three per Box is still pretty solid IMO...
