Also, is it Ironic that a Carr sits atop the best QBs available with the Texans picking? I think so.

Will this one turn out to be at least serviceable, unlike his brother?

I don't think the Texans will take Carr since they had his older brother here earlier. I am not a Texan fan at all, but I always thought David Carr got a bum rap in Houston. Houston's offensive line was a red carpet to the QB.

I do, however, think the younger Carr (whose name eludes me at the moment) has more NFL potential.

David Carr was on ESPN radio last week and said his brother is much better than he was at the same age and that he felt bad his last name would hurt his draft position.

His name is derek.

Yes, David did get XXXX luck with when/where he was drafted.....thefe wete better O-Lines in college in 2002-2005 than the Texans had. But he did have a few issues, namely holding on to the ball too long Cuz he wanted to make a play every time.

And yes, derek has way more potential to be great. There's not a throw he cant make. I saw him launch the ball, from a stand still mind you, over 80+ yards.....and he nailed the goal post upright. His accuracy and arm strength are unmatched in the draft, but his pocket presence does need work.

Love me some Mel, especially in the later rounds when everybody just looks at him and he gives you 6 paragraphs on some unknown DT from Nowhereville St, but even I might have to stop watching the ESPN coverage for two reasons:

1. Gruden

2. They keep over-playing "I'm the Man". Not that I dislike the song, or even hearing it 1000 times, but everytime I hear it now I automatically think of the completely inappropiate, but hilarious, skit involving Tosh and a satire of the beats Commercials!

And reports hitting the wire right now that Josh Gordon is to be suspended for the entire 2014 season. Agent is denying it though. That'd be a crushing blow to the Browns...

Lee to Jacksonville at 38. Another nice pick by the Jags IMO...

And personally I like the Cowboys pick, despite past issues. But giving up a 3rd round pick? To move up 15 spots? IDK about that...

Did josh Gordon get caught smoking weed again!? We should definitely suspend him a full season! That is definitely on the same level as vehicular manslaughter (donate stallworth) and far worse than obstruction of justice in a murder case (potentially even murder, Ray Lewis). What a terrible person!

Rams / Texans / Jobwares killing it. Vikes doing well too.

Loved how these idiot 'draftniks' thought Tom Savage could go in the 2nd. Morons.

David Fales today. Hopefully AZ / STL / SD / TENN look at him. Don't need him to go to a highly collected area. That's what killed my Matt Forte collection.

Rams draft Michael Sam.

I think it's unfortunate he came out before the draft (or his rookie season, even).
I'd like to think his draft position and if he makes the final squad is all based on skills rather than his sexual orientation.

I am waiting for people to say he got drafted as late as he did because of his sexual orientation. If he doesn't make the 53 man opening day squad (or gets waived and added to the practice squad), I am waiting for people to say it's because of his sexual orientation.

I bet in exhibitions (and regular season games if he makes the squad), there will be lots of slurs spoken his way. Will the NFL refs be sensitive to that and throw a lot of 15 yard laundry? Will the NFL be miking up Sam every week to try to record as evidence and find out who is yelling slurs at him so those players can be fined in the weekly fine report? Probably going to be lots of fines and suspensions for slur speakers as the NFL doesn't want to have a PR problem of having so many gay-haters in the league. Will the union protect those slur speakers saying that trash-talking is part of the game or that it's a first amendment speech issue or stand up for Sam saying it's unacceptable to direct slurs his way?

Should be at least a very interesting exhibition season and regular season if he makes the final squad.

I don't see that as a reason to boo him as he's opening the draft, but I guess people are boo happy these days anyway

Probably had something to do with him trying to turn the game into touch football.Too many silly rule changes.

My two cents:

Great first move by Cleveland, their Corners are gonna be fantastic but I'm not a "Johnny Clipboard" fan.

Buffalo overpaid for a guy I don't think they needed.

3rd straight year the Cowboys took an OL-man. Like it.

Like what the Rams did, they're both "boring" picks but the kind of moves that Playoff teams make to solidify your Roster.

Pack got great value with Dix.

And Cooks might be the best "fit" of the entire First Round. Nice move to trade up and get the guy they musta coveted...

Rams are going to be tough to run on next year.Added some nice secondary depth too.So who is Manziel
going to pass to this year?I can't believe no WR taken when they knew Gordon was suspended.

Don't forget that one of the main reasons he says that he came out so early was that he didn't want to be bothered too much by all the questions about it, in team interviews, whether at the Combine or his second interviews.

I think his skills will be the deciding factor. Part of it will be the fact that the Rams have pretty good LBs already. He'll have to win the Coaches over via SpecialTeams, hustle and overall attitude, just like most Low round picks. Hopefully he proves to be better than a typical 7th Rounder...
