Glad I canceled my deal with this guy. If I had a word for him, it would be "annoying". We had a pending transaction, but luckily he offered to cancel it. While we were still working out the details, I would read a page in a thread somewhere on the boards, click another link, and literally have 3-5 PMs from him.

He transferred it out of his PP account before ever sending anything, thus using the funds from the transaction

In all fairness I assume he had transferred the funds out for use -- which is usually the cause of immediate withdrawal. I didn't think a young teenager would be doing anything else with cash he gets.

I dont really see a problem with this, anyways. Any time I receive a paypal payment, I AUTOMATICALLY withdraw it to my bank account. I never carry a paypal balance nor do I see any plausible reason to.

I saw it and wasn't worried about it. I used my credit card, so I never have to worry about not collecting.
I was a little suspicious when he didn't send the DC when he said he would, then said he misplaced it. He also asked for more money to buy more.
I could tell after just a couple messages that he was just a kid.

I did confirm that he informed paypal to allow a full refund, and he states that he shipped HALF the dvds...although I am not sure i believe that either :D

Like I said, i really am not worried about it, and he seems more concerned than I am. I know I won't lose any money. My only concern is for others who may be dealing with him that don't use credit cards.

I think everything will work out fine, because he came clean and he seems nervous to do what's right :D

Neither do I --

--Except int he case that not only have I NOT sent out what the money was for but nor do I KNOW WHEN I will be sending it out. I think he may have been jumping the gun a bit early withdrawing the money when he couldn't even give an ETA on when he'd send the DVDs.

And i'm not taking boomets side at all.

I didn't expand because I had to go to work and didnt' have time to....i just wanted to warn anyone else that may be thinking about sending money or merchandise, to just exercise caution.

I am home from lunch right now.

I don't find anything wrong with him pulling money out of paypal when he gets it. i do that too. The problem was that he didn't send DC when he said he would, then he said he misplaced it. Then he asked for more money for more dvds...i just had a hunch something was up and that he was young by his messages. When I finally asked him flat out if he mailed the DVD's yet, he said half of them, but that he would refund my account and I could pay him for the ones he did send. :D

Again, I am not worried about it...I was a teenager at one time, and guilty of far worse "crimes" :D

I am sure it will all work out ok, i just wanted to warn people to exercise caution if they deal with him.

Re: Word of warning. Use caution dealing with member BOOMETS

You know, I get the issues here and totally understand...BUT, that is EXACTLY why there is the "must send first" tag on this guy.

I realize hofautos wasn't concerned, but clearly there should have been a reason to be.

I'm not taking boomets side, because what he did was wrong, but I hate to say it, this wouldn't have been an issue if hofautos had let him send first and THEN paid.

And if other than this (again sorry, partially the buyers fault), annoying PM's are the biggest concern, I think we've got bigger "bad dealers" out in the world that we should focus on not dealing with.

To be honest, i see that "must send first" many times, and just assumed that everyone gets that when they are new or haven't made a trade yet. Is that icon only used for people that have had problems?

I just know from experience that if paypal won't pay, the credit card will....and I learned that on items a lot bigger than $40. I personally never worry anymore using paypal and AMEX.

And that's fine, but my issue here is that if he had sent first, this would be a case of:

"He took too long to send"

And that issue is MUCH different (and a lesser issue that I think most traders can deal with) than:

"He took my money, and then lied"

The icon is there for a reason, and buyers and traders need to adhere to it.

I never said he took my money and lied. I never accused him of anything. I just warned others to use caution when dealing with him.
If I want to send paypal before I recieve an item, that is my perogative. I will decide my own risks.

I still would like to know if that icon is ONLY given to people with known problems? If I knew that was the case, I may "observe" it more closely.

yes, it is given after an issue, not to everyone who hasn't made any or enough deals

Re: Word of warning. Use caution dealing with member BOOMETS

This is exactly why I have had "not dealing with boomets" in my sig for months.

I got 9 PM's in 30 minutes asking for me to add things to the deal, even when we already completed it, and I packaged it up.

He is a complete waste of your time.
