On a side note, Marrero is Batting .311 after his first 17 games

This mission started out about 4-5 years ago. I opened a box of Bowman's Best and pulled a AFLAC buy back auto card. I though it was cool at the time that I got a bonus auto. I did not know much about this guy but liked that he was a big kid and was projected to be a power hitter.

I think it was shortly after pulling the card, good ol Beckett came out with their rookie rolodex....I look though it and find the comparison for Chris Marrero was Albert Pujols :benson: ::facepalm:: (It was clear early on in the minors that he was never going to be the next Pujols). Eventhough I knew he wasn't going to be the next BIG thing, I was committed. Over the next 4 years I picked up a little here and a little there. Everyday I typed in (Chris Marrero Chrome on eBay)

After I completed the 2009 BC Rainbow, I was on a mission for the 2006 BC Rainbow. About 1-1/2 years ago it popped up and I had it save in my watch list. Well, I had a family emergency that evening it closed and forgot to get a bid in. ::facepalm:: Well, last week it popped up again....I was not going to miss out twice....

To make this even sweeter...Mr Chris Marrero got his September call up Doesn't even matter if he performs well or not (maybe a little), just happy to be done.

As a Nationals fan I've been following him for years now, I even wrote an article about the superfractor being posted (don't worry almost nobody reads my articles, I wasn't sending extra bids on it). It is cool that got it with the collection you have.

The one other thing that crossed my mind was to get all the print plates, but I decided against it.....maybe I will try for 1 plate of each card. Thanks for the comments.
