Does it occur to you that people are fans of both Minor and Major League Baseball? I don't really "prospect" but I do occasionally buy cards of minor leaguers I've seen in person or went to school with. I know personally, I love going to minor league games. I don't get why so many people even care about what other people collect enough to make a big deal out of it...

While I can partially understand your confusion on why people are willing to pay $900 for an autograph of a 16 year old kid...I don't see why it bothers you.There are many people in this world who are going to do things that you don't agree with.Hell...today alone 25 people probably,somewhere in the world, committed suicide.To me...that is horrible.But I am not going to lose any sleep over it.Are you?Probably not.It also stands to reason then that you shouldn't care too much about what people collect.

As for why people clicked on this thread...it could be for genuine interest in sports.I clicked on it because if, it were in fact true, then I have something else to talk about the next time I am at the shop.Not too many 14 year old kids can throw 90 mph.That would be something to talk about.

Not too sure people who get angry because someone is not only trying to pointlessly make fun of them , but also clog up the boards with useless posts, are social misfits.I am also not too sure anyone got violently angry either.

I remember when bodiaz (aka Peter Haskett) came on the Beckett boards the first time. He wanted our opinions about buying guaranteed hot packs on ebay and wanted to know how the sellers knew there were Xfractors, Gold Refractors, etc. in hot packs. The board obliged by telling him that these were resealed packs and that he would get junk if he bought them. He then went on to argue about how we were wrong, and that there were legitimate hot pack sellers on ebay. His reasoning: look at all the feedback, and ebay wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. So, he ends up spending about $200 on hot packs and got a bunch of crap. Furthermore, he insulted me specifically (said that I worked at Taco Bell) as well as the others that were guaranteeing him that his hot packs would be crap. Dustan (Junior Griffey) and I had some fun with the post, with Dustan claiming to be my manager at Taco Bell, and how I was employee of the month, etc. I never understood why someone would come to a message board about cards, have knowledgeable folk tell him the truth, and then tell everyone whose advice was sought that they are wrong, capping it off by insults.

I can just see him now after he clicked SUBMIT on the original post, staring at his watch and counting the views on his post. "11 hits in 60 seconds, this is exactly what I hoped for! I'll be sure to tell everyone about this, further proving my point about them being losers." I only hope he had pulled his pants up and wiped the grease off by then.

leather- You REALLY need to get your facts straight on this? You are thinking of someone else. I have never bought a single "hot pack" in my life, nor have I talked about it. I believe that you had that encounter with someone, but it wasn't me. Go talk to your life partner Dustan, and find out who that was really about. I won't wait for an apoligy, you don't seem the type to admit when he is wrong.
