Here's what I think....

I think that all these superstars who have made a ton of money using PED's should pay back half of their salaries to their teams. Besides that, I don't care.

I'm sure the Giants have already benefited from Bonds' PED use in the form of higher attendance, a trip to the World Series, and more excitement about Giants baseball. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to get away with putting a lineup of Jose Cruz Jr., Shawn Dunston, JT Snow, Benito Santiago on the field.

Hey, no dissing JT Snow! That was one of the highest attended games for the Giants in 2008 when he retired!

The chicks always like JT Snow more than the male fans

But, let's face it, Bonds carried the lineup in the 2000-2004 years. Even his walks were helpful because they totally changed the complexion of the game. He created 20 runs for every 27 outs he made in 2004. The next highest in the league was Albert Pujols at...10. In other words, the difference b/w Bonds and Pujols in 2004 was bigger than the difference b/w Pujols and me.

Without Bonds, that lineup would've resembled last year's lineup which had the fewest HR's hit by a team since the 1993 expansion Marlins. That's pretty (un)impressive.

Some guy named Kent was pretty good too...

Not a huge Kent fan, especially in the later years. He wasn't nearly as good as early in his Giants career. I think he had a season where he only hit .250 with RISP and still got over 100 RBI's because Bonds got on 60% of the time in front of him.

He hit .250 his first year and didn't hit below .290 in any season after that. His .250 year he hit 29 HR and had 121 RBI - still not bad numbers. Certainly better than anyone on the 1993 Marlins.

I give him credit for comingclean, but do not care that he took steroids from 2001-2003. If he took a test today or anytime in the last couple of years and came back positive for performance enhancing drugs then I would have an issue with him.

Ah, so it's okay that he did it and didn't get caught for 5-6 years. But if it did it now, he's a bad person.

That makes sense.
What he took was legal back then, was it not?

As far as I'm concerned, at this point, if you weren't using, you weren't trying.

Nominated for dumbest post of the day.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that!

As for ARod....I still don't like him, but I do like the fact that he admitted it and apologized.

You guys are suckers if you couldn't identify that that post was made in jest...

2009-2003 = 6 years.

He did it in 2003, didn't get "caught" until 2009. An argument can be made that it's 5 1/2 years since we're in February, 2009, so that's why I put the 5 years there.[/quote]

Not quite. You are bending the facts here.

He got caught in 2003; however, he didn't get "outed" until 2009. As an Attorney, you should know about and respect the legitimacy of a "sealed" court document such as the results of this "anonymous" steroid testing, that was anything but.

Who cares if A-Rod juiced for three years or three months, the fact remains that he juiced.

It all depends on whether or not they had unprotected sex.

Good of him to admit it. But that doesn't change anything. Just proves he knows when he is wrong, and the best thing to do is admit it.

Nothing more than a liar and a cheat. Lets not forget that when Canseco said he had something on Aroid that, Aroid said, he never did anything and that Canseco is a liar. Interesting turn of events.

More interesting will be the abuse he gets in the Bronx and everywhere else. Lets face it, he's no Mr. October, and the Yankess fans are not all about him. I predict the Giambi effect where he will not be able to hit at all. Minors by July !!!!

And what a fruit loop with his red string....stop hanging out with Madonna, ***.

i love how the mods get over people for having pictures of girls in ther sigs but this IDIOT can say whatever he wants on the boards including the last statement...and i so would give anything to see david wright on a list linked to steroids but he probably is taking the undetectable stuff considering he came into the game at a way later time than arod.

I'm just going to throw this out there, partly serious, partly comedic, but I wouldn't be the slight bit surprised if it was a Red Sox fan in the Government who leaked the ARod information. I am mostly serious. I mean, take a look at it. Who led the Mitchell Report? George Mitchell. And what MLB franchise did Senator Mitchell have a vested interest in? The Boston Red Sox. How many high profile Red Sox were mentioned in the Mitchell Report? I just skimmed the list and came up with two former Red Sox. Mo Vaughan and Roger Clemens. But how many high profile Yankees were implicated? Jason Giambi, Andy Pettitte, Roger Clemens, Gary Sheffield, Kevin Brown, David Justice, Chuck Knoblauch, Mike Stanton, Glenallen Hill, Rondell White. May be stretching the term 'high profile' with the last few a bit, but you get the picture. You may think what I just said is crazy, but I think I am onto something.

It does explain Arod's moodiness and petulant behavior towards Derek, now he knows why and they can live together, as a couple, in happiness without hiding anything from each other.

I got to your post, and stopped reading. This was EXACTLY what I was going to say. I'd like to hear what kind of punishment these cheating overpaid SOB's are going to get. A slap on the wrist? A few games suspended? Nothing? Yeah, he loses a lot of credibility, but what about the millions and millions of dollars these supposed superstars stole from their employers?

My other point was going to be to reiterate what someone else said, I think feng. He's only sorry that he did it now that he's been caught. Same with the whole lot of them. Is anyone coming out to admit anything before the reports become public? Nope. So this lame, emotional cry for pity is pathetic. Wah wah, you millionaire cheater. Give back some of that money without being asked to do so and I'll have a little more respect for you. These guys leave their morals at the door.

Every era seems to have its share of scandals. Our era now is steroids. Baseball has had issues with gambling, amphetamines, cocaine, and now steroids. One has to assume that HGH is or will be a problem as well.

For now, I wish the entire list of 104 would be leaked so that more info would come out into the open. And once out in the open, players accomplishments in this era can be better judged against each other.
