I give him credit for comingclean, but do not care that he took steroids from 2001-2003. If he took a test today or anytime in the last couple of years and came back positive for performance enhancing drugs then I would have an issue with him.

Ah, so it's okay that he did it and didn't get caught for 5-6 years. But if it did it now, he's a bad person.

That makes sense.

What he took was legal back then, was it not?

Don't quote me on this but from what I have read...it was not even legal in America as a whole.A lot of this stuff was easily found in Latin American countries but was illegal to have in your possesion at all here in the states.Thats what I don't get...it may not have been against any black and white rule in a baseball handbook but it most certainly is against the law to have or take.If my employer gave me a drug test and I failed...there would be little if any discussion other than "Grab your tools and leave...your checks will be in the mail.".

But, that's the thing. MLB didn't test for steroids in the 1990's. Even when it did test for steroids in 2003, it agreed not to punish the players. So, if your employer told you, "We're never going to test you for pot and even if we do, the first time you fail, we promise not to fire you," don't you think drug use would go up? If you have no backbone behind your words, then people aren't going to listen to them.

I get what your saying and I agree with it totally.But my point is not so much what your talking about but more or less to show people why it matters and why it is something to be a little upset about.I make way less than any of these guys(which is okay by me) and if I screw up just a little bit I am gone.They get all the chances in the world and still get their job and money.Thats why it angers me and thats also why it shocks me that MLB has no marbles whatsoever.I mean...if you get busted in a drug test at work your gone.Thats a pretty good deterent for a lot of people.Why not do the same for MLB players?

I guess I understand what you're saying. He's done some things in the last year or two potentially w/o steroids. They were some great feats, meaning it's kind of stupid that he use considering what he cold do w/o. Not saying he wasn't using something ultra-super-secret, but if he did those things w/o steroids, maybe it's not that big a deal.

It's like Scott Van Pelt (I think) said about testing for PEDs in golf: "Just test Tiger; if he's clean, and I think he is, then you might want to consider giving everyone else some PEDs."

I guess I understand what you're saying. He's done some things in the last year or two potentially w/o steroids. They were some great feats, meaning it's kind of stupid that he use considering what he cold do w/o. I am sorry but I just can't see a player who is good enough to even get drafted needing PED's.I just can't.Sure it may put a little pop in your bat or help you recover from an outing better but seriously...if you had the skill to get drafted...chances are you have talent that can be developed.Sure you may not be crushing the ball 8,000 feet but chances are you can jack one.I am not saying this out of arrogance but I'd bet anyone my entire collection if you took me out to minute maid and threw me a few pitches to get warmed up and I practiced every day(even if it was only in a batting cage and only for two weeks or so) like these players undoubtedly do...I'd be able to jack one for sure.

Of course...I am strongly convinced I'd be able to make a good throw across the diamond too.Something I see a lot of players having trouble with for some reason.Eh...maybe I am just bitter that these guys make a whole lot more than me and perform marginally better than I could.Or maybe I am just arrogant and think I am better than I really am but hey...at least I'd put my money where my mouth is.

I'm not for players taking steroids, but I admire the ones that admit that they did it.

watch the interview, i think people that hate him will see him in a different light than bonds and clemens...hes on the verge of tears and you can tell how much he regrets what he did

Sure...cause he was caught. Most everyone regrets something bad they did when they are caught and it is brought to light. I know I regret a lot of things I did in my past, but it's my secret and I have to live with it, as long as no one else knows, who cares.
