Well it looks like I won't be selling my Wainwright auto's any time soon. I'm sure the price on his cardboard will drop for the duration of his stint on the dl.

I'm not so sure about that. I am not predicting great things for the Cubs by any means, but when I look at both teams now I have a tough time seeing exactly why the Cardinals would be considered the superior team after this injury. I agree the Reds are the clear cut favorite with the Brewers, Cards, and Cubs all relatively equal.

I am saddened by this injury, and I think it hurts the Cards more than anyone else. It is going to be a long season, and I am bummed out that my favorite player won't see the field until 2012.
Kind of ironic that I sent him a long letter just yesterday explaining why I am such as big fan--for both his skill and kindness at ST--and wishing him luck for the upcoming season.
From a collecting standpoint, I am hoping this time off allows him to check his mail and read the letters I have sent to him and maybe his prices will lower so I can enhance my collection.

Think again. Wainwright's injury compounds the Pujols issue.

Bottom line.... Adam did it to himself!!! ......he has himself to blame if anyone is to blame. Blowing your arm out in first week of ST, throwing BP ?? OK were not talking 55 year old coach who makes $75K a year tossing BP, were talking a multi million dollar #1 starter throwing BP, not too bright of St.L...
(Bad offseason conditioning, starting ST too strong, not stretching before letting it loose, or just bad luck (mechanics, not following through because of the "L" screen, throwing sliders in BP) etc.
PS I wouldnt throw at Gomes, #1 he is an animal, and #2 its also uncalled for, he said nothing wrong at all. I said the same thing when I read the headline, Im a Giants fan and anytime you get to face a replacement over a good pitcher like Adam, its a huge advantage any opponent would LOVE! Reds, Cubs fans should be happy as hell! .......to a point

All you have to do is look at their lineups. The Cardinals lineup top to bottom is better and their pitching is still at least equal to the Cubs even without Wainwright. If the Cards just play up to their potential this year it should still turn out all right.
