I don't have a problem with what the Yankees are doing at all... they have proven that the biggest payroll does not in fact guarantee championships, I say more power to them. They only use 5 starters like every other team in the league, so if they want to over-pay for a few of them, so be it. I don't think it hurts baseball in the least...

I think the whole Tex thing is just a rumor and I hope it is. I love to see the Yankees get pitching which they actually need, but getting Tex is just throwing unnecessary money around. They got Swisher, and they're outfield will be Damon, Cameron, and Nady. I really hope they don't get Tex.

Burnett arguably has the best stuff in the game for a starter, certainly top 10. Health is his problem.

To be honest, I am kind of relieved they didn't. I am willing to just take another year rebuilding and work on 2010. However, I think we need to sign Smoltz. If he signs with someone like the Red Sox I will be FURIOUS. We owe him at least one more year after all he has done for the franchise.
