Oh, of course. I just think it's slightly unfair that A-Rod is getting all the bad press (and a benching) for a bad series (remarkably bad for a superstar), while we hear little about one of the other main stars for the Yankees doing just as bad.

It's a surprising benching (to me anyways) but there's no way with that contract that he's not around for a long time.

My guess is that sometime a few days after the Playoffs end something "leaks" about an injury to A-rod...

I would drop ARod to 6th in the lineup, not bench him.

As for his playoff history, people forget he carried the 2009 World Series championship team offensively during the playoffs.

I dunno, ARoid has also had 9Ks in those last 16 ABs LOL. Chavez is certainly servicable, I don't know how serviceable a potential replacement for Grandy would be.

ARod couldn't hit off a righty with a billboard; Girardi has enough options defensively to replace him at 3B.

Granderson is a lefty facing Hammel, and there isn't that many liable replacement defensively at CF.

Yes, ARod is receiving all the blame; but guess what, when you're making $29M a year, have had a so-so season (to be polite) and have hardly contributed in the postseason since he got here (except in '09, but that was to impress his giiiiiiirlfriend Kate Upton), that is to be expected. At least Cano, Swisher and Granderson had stretches of games when they carried the team.

He is done being a power hitting feared player. He is now a bottom of the lineup hitter & thats how he sould be treated.

Above all, its october & outside of '09, hes been horrible, in the past & thats when he was "a rod"

Swisher, Arod and Granderson have all been terrible. Wish Giradi had pinch hit for Arod last night in the eighth when it was second and third with 1out, even if they walked Ibanez to load the bases. Arod just looks lost.
