I just came across as very hollow.

He still seems to be dodging a bit. He should have just come clean. Reading from a crumpled piece of paper was a bad move.

Yeah, that's kind of where I am. He appears so fake sometimes... I don't know what it is.

Why not just say - I cheated, it was wrong, don't count my stats for those 3 years, and going forward I am going to prove I am a great baseball player. How hard is that?

So if he did not take steroids those 3 ytears, He would have hit zero HRs???

How much did it help him??? maybe 5-10 HRs, so 15-30 Hrs are tainted???

Arod says if you believe something will help you, you may do better...
He thought the stuff he was taking was helping. "Mentally" he was doing better But if he wasnt doing it right, it could have been Mind over Matter....
Then a reporter asked him that question....Didnt he just hear what he said???

One lie for sure from the "cousin". He said his "cousin" came to him and suggested they try this thing to get more energy. A few minutes later when he was asked who the cousin was he said that he didnt want to bring him into the picture when it was HIM who went to the cousin, giving him directions and all the cousin did was do what Arod asked him to.

Umm dude the guy came to him and said I can get this stuff, he got this stuff for him and AROD wanted more and sent him. I am not sure what part you think is a lie.

I am sick of hearing him use the same line when asked why he did it: "I was young." I have lost friends, and have many more who are still fighting for our freedom in Iraq that are as young as 19. To come out and tell the world that you did something illegeal and try to defend yourself with age is stupid. I cant even believe the guy has the impression that 24 is a young age! If he said he was 17, in high school, being pressured by people around him to do it, thats one thing. Guess what Alex, when you hit 18, your an adult! 24 is not "young and immature". One sentance he talks about how great he is and how he didnt need any help with his preformance, next sentance hes young and immature. Give me a break.

He is saying he started baseball at 18 and had no time to grow up and had $$ to boot. And he never said he was great he said he had talent which no one can deny.

Thats not at all what he talked about. He claims he started taking steroids at 24, so the 18 thing goes out the window. He claims to be young when he was asked about the beginning of his taking steroids which was apparently 24.

Did he not say, when asked in the interview last year "Did you ever think of taking steroids", No because he never felt he needed it to be better than everyone else?

He was 24 when he took them. "I was young and naive" doesn't fly in your sixth or seventh season.

So I guess its safe to assume you made a million dollars out of high school? Trust me as someone who works in the record industry I have seen 45 year old men who act 15 cause they got money at 19.

At the beginning he said "my cousin suggested" we take the substance. Later hes asked who the cousin is and he said he didnt want to talk about him because all he did was take instruction from Arod.

I'll ignore the rhetorical question and move right into the fact that it doesn't matter. If a 45 year old man breaks the rules there are consequences regardless of his financial success. It isn't an excuse.

Of course he would have hit home runs and probably quite a few but that is not the point. It's like a test, if you get caught cheating on 1 question out of 50 guess what? You fail - the other 49 answers hold no weight.

I agree, but people dont grow up when they get money. So to say its so outrageous that this can happen is kind of silly. Also I dont undertsand why people are so baffled with this cousin thing, its plain and simple his cousin said I can get steriods they cant catch. AROD says ok get me this and continues to do so. So arod feels he dont need to involve his cousin cause arod ordered him to send it. Its not rocket science its pretty cut and dry, but people are going to stick to their guns no matter what he said.

To me, this "me me me" news conference has only cemented my belief that Alex Rodriguez used steroids PRIOR to 2001. It just doesn't make sense to me that he would start in 2001 when he just signed a 10-year $250 million contract.

I will give him this, he certainly likes to play the victim role. Ah yes, to be "young and immature" again.

Also, anyone have any idea what this "drug/supplement" he was taking is? The positive test showed two different drugs which may certainly have been in this injection, but I'm just curious.

I have no issue with the cousin aspect. It is believable enough. And I'm not saying it is outrageous that this can happen but rather that it ISN'T AN EXCUSE.

While I agree its not a good excuse it is his excuse. Some times excuses kind of suck since you look like a complete tool bag lol

I wonder what would happen this season if A-Rod hit like 50+ homeruns...

He said he wasn't sure it helped???

He averaged 10+ more homers with Texas than with the Yankees and Seattle.

I seriously think that reporter was trying to save his career and he just whiffed. If he had looked enlightened and said, "Yes. I will take a blood test every day if that is what it takes to regain the trust of the fans and my teammates" then I think he saves his career and ends this for all but the most hardcore Yankees haters.

But he did not get "caught" Cheating in the act...
Thats like saying, Someone said you cheated on a test 7 years ago, Then you claim it was only 1 question...
Is not the same thing as getting caught "in the act" of cheating.
If he would have tested positive now, you would not know how long he has been taking, if they are not testing every month...
That is the same as getting caught by the teacher for cheating on a test right now...
But the way it happened to Arod is not the same..

Why didn't he come out and say he was taking before he was singled out from the Leak????

Has any of the 103 others come clean and said they were taking steroids before they get named????

Because he felt no guilt or remorse for his actions before he got caught. I don't think many people really believe much of what he's saying now. He's always been known as a big phony.
