I'm hoping Span gets healthy for next year and we can do Cuddyer/Span/Revere/Plouffe rotation in the OF, Benson as the fifth off the bench, and Revere can stay out of center. From watching the game yesterday, he has trouble hitting the cut on the fly...

That is more than likely something that will be worked on in the off season, not saying anything can help, but Im sure that will be the focus.
After the game on Monday they showed him practicing with Gardy and Cuddyer, his best throw they showed was a two-hopper to home, bounced first near the mound.

Also, Adam Weber overtook Tebow for #3 on the Broncos depth chart, nice to see a Gopher might get a good shot in the NFL

With the Mauer Contract, I don't see us trying to keep kubel. Odds are that we'll start piecing off the vets and moving back to the days of young twins players. With Mauer, Morneau, and Span locked for a while atleast, I can see us shedding payroll, especially if we aren't contending

As a fan of the Twins, that is unacceptable to me, to move into a new ballpark and cutting payroll. For years all we heard was, for us to be a contender, we needed a new ballpark to generate more revenue, blah blah blah. Well, they got their new park, now fix **** and fix it right!!! They cut payroll and try and develop and not try and contend year in and year out, they can have my season tickets back. I wont support a losing cause. No this is not me being a fair weather fan, this is me wanting what I pay for, a quality team!!!

Their first step in cutting payroll should be asking Mauer to renegotiate and take a 30% pay cut with how poorly he's played this season, tell him it's best for the team, not like he needs the extra $6 million

Who claimed Kubel and Thome?

I really hope Thome stays until Saturday...

Not confirmed, but leading source I guess?
http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/white-s ... home-claim

and not likely on the second part bud

"The White Sox and Twins would now have 48 hours to work out a possible deal, if news of the waiver claims is true. The Twins also have the option of pulling one or both players off waivers and keeping them on their roster if they don’t see a good trade fit. "

Looks like the White Sox claimed both, mostly to block Cleveland

More info on Kubel:
" Olney has spoken to executives who expected the White Sox, Indians, Rangers, or Yankees to win a claim on Kubel."

Gosh darn, that WWW is a mighty powerful tool!

Of all of the 29 other teams, really don't want to see any Twins playing in those ugly pinstripes

Kubel would end up just being a one month rental for the Yanks, I dont see them signing Kubel after the season. However, he will have to stay in the AL, as I dont think he is good enough to be an everyday outfielder.

Ya I figured for what I paid it was worth it. I wouldn't ever go overboard but I think Joe has a future with the Twins someday so I been picking up a few things here and there.

I definitely agree with you, but I can see the Twins doing something like this. We're selling out almost every game, but for how long? If we don't make our annual playoff appearence, I wouldn't be suprised if a game plan along these lines went into effect.

Again, this season has been crazy with injuries, and our starting pitching has flopped more often then not. I still hold out that we bounce back from this losing season like we did on 08 out of 07. I will support the Twins win or lose like I always have, and I really hope the Mauer contract doesn't keep us from putting a quality team on the field in a couple years.

Going to blaze over to the LCS tomorrow to look for graphing supplies.

Has anyone been to the FanZone in Willmar? I like them but some of their prices are high.
